Tresaderm
Tresaderm is a combination of ear and skin medication prescribed for dogs and cats. This medication contains an antifungal, corticosteroid and broad-spectrum antibiotic to treat inflammation, as well as bacterial and fungal infections of ear and skin. this topical solution comes in convenient drop form, making treatment easier for you and your pet.

Benefits:
Treatment of certain bacterial, mycotic, and inflammatory dermatoses and otitis externa in dogs and cats.

For use:
Dogs & cats

Active ingredient(s):
thiabendazole, dexamethasone & neomycin

Cautions:
Avoid contact with eyes. The application should be limited to a period not longer than one week. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
Side effects:
On rare occasions, dogs may be sensitive to neomycin. In these animals, the application of the drug will result in erythema of the treated area, which may last 24 to 48 hours. Also, evidence of transient discomfort has been noted in some dogs when the drug was applied to fissured or denuded areas. The expression of pain may last 2 to 5 minutes. While systemic side effects are not likely with topically applied corticosteroids, such a possibility should be considered if the use of the solution is extensive and prolonged. If signs of salt and water retention or potassium excretion are noticed (increased thirst, weakness, lethargy, oliguria, gastrointestinal disturbances or tachycardia), treatment should be discontinued and appropriate measures are taken to correct the electrolyte and fluid imbalance. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. If any of these side effects are observed contact your veterinarian.
Usage:
Tresaderm should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Prior to the administration of Tresaderm, remove the ceruminous, purulent or foreign materials from the ear canal, as well as the crust which may be associated with dermatoses affecting other parts of the body. The design of the container nozzle safely allows partial insertion into the ear canal for ease of administration. The amount to apply and the frequency of treatment are dependent upon the severity and extent of the lesions.
