The National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) was founded in 2007 by a group of compassionate and hardworking volunteers, who work tirelessly to help give a voice to the plight of mill dogs across the country. NMDR relies solely on grants and donations, and we are thrilled to partner with them to help them in their mission to rescue, love and care for mill dogs forced to live in harsh conditions. All donations made on this page, both products and monetary gifts, will be sent directly to NMDR to help them support the dogs in their care.

About NMDR and Harley

On a mill rescue mission in 2011, Rudi Taylor, an active NMDR member, helped rescue Harley winner of the first Dog.com Cover Dog Photo Contest. Harley was living in an uninhabitable cage in a puppy mill, cramped and crowded and unable to see the light of day. After his rescue, Harley received medical care and began adjusting to life in his new home. It wasn't long before Harley became a celebrity, launching "Harley to the Rescue" with his mom, a campaign to raise awareness of conditions in puppy mills. Harley has helped over 500 dogs since his campaign began, and he continues to advocate for those less fortunate puppies still stuck in mills across the country.
