Product Summary:

Walkabout™ Walkabelly Pet Harness Lifting Aid

The design and construction of the Walkabelly Pet Harness provides the balance and support necessary for your pet to lead a more active life when they otherwise cannot. Use of the Walkabelly Pet Harness can also help minimize the back strain that often results from lifting and carrying heavy animals. The Walkabelly can be left on for extended periods of the day. These hand-held Neoprene slings are lined with comfy fleece to support your pet with ease.

Excellent construction, BUT...
We have a scottie who had acl surgery and thought that the harness would help us lift her up and down since she isn't supposed to use the leg yet. It's very nicely made with quality materials and attention to detail.Unfortunately it has very long handles which can't be shortened and, when I dangle the scottie at the end of the long handles, her weight shifts and she ends up head down hanging from her rear legs.If I can figure out how to shorten (as picture on web page shows) to a few inches above her, it should be fine.

this harness looks like it will be easy to put on our senior dog to assist her during her walks- getting up curbs, etc... The other harnesses we have purchases are difficult to put on.

my lab is 85 lbs. do I get a large or xlarge?

How does this sling attach? Does it have velcro, a zipper or what? This is in reference to the Walkabelly Harness
Marlene V on Mar 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It has Velcro. I have a bulldog and it was OK for her but she's also an odd shape. I don't know if it would be as easy for a dog with longer hair just cause of the Velcro but if it's not a large dog honestly it doesn't need to be fully closed to work as long as ur able to support your pet
Looking for help getting a 90# Golden Doodle on and off a sailboat and dingy ... would this help? Large or extra large?
Nancy J on Aug 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi there,

For appropriate sizing, you would need to measure your dog in several areas. Please see the size chart here: https://www.dog.com/ContentFiles/Associated_Content/403803.pdf

Good luck!
Can this help a hip displagic dog go down stairs?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This would be appropiate for hip issues. It helps to support the back legs and provide balance as well. It will take the strain off the hips a bit too.
I ordered this for our lab, but how how do they go to the bathroom? He would pee in it? :( ?...
Amelia C on Oct 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This would be to assist in walking, when it would be time for your pet to go to the bathroom, you would need to remove the harness to allow them that ability.
