A traumatic time.
My dog HATES it, after one week, refuses to go on it. The problem appears to be that she doesn't feel SAFE on it. On day one she (my dog weighs 70 lbs) was so terrified that she was spread-eagled all over it, trying to get a grasp of something which proved to be impossible. The surface is HARD little pebbles with absolutely nothing to hold on to. I got feedback from friends trying to help that with time she would get used to it only finding that after 4 days of trying to help her by assisting with her weight with my arms preventing her from jumping off it that she refused to go even near it anymore and for the first time ever, cowered with her head down when I tried to get her even near it. One week later, I have now given up and am helping to lift her onto the seat which is what I was doing prior to getting the ramp. Its been traumatic for both of us.

I have been told since them that adult dogs, mine is 7 years old, must have a surface where they can dig in their claws to feel safe and that most ramps have something like that. At almost $70 this has absolutely nothing to assist her to climb up.

I am requesting a refund for this ramp.

Sincerely,

BJ Killeen

DOG RAMP
I have a Great Pyrenes/Collie cross who is 100 lbs. I ordered this ramp because it was rated at 150 lbs. The ramp is lightweight because it is plastic, (which he likes to chew) but for such a large dog the ramp is not very wide. I didn't see any really good hooks or attachments for stability to the vechile. The tread surface is probably fair for traction but my dog is probably never going to use it. It does not have a handle for human ease of use either.

NO Carpet as described, it is like coarse sandpaper
There is NOT carpet for traction as is described. That was the only reason I ordered this product since I already had one with sandpaper. Doesn't seem it should be that difficult to accurately describe a product. For those having a hard time training older dogs, have them walk across it several times while it is flat on the ground before inclining the ramp. Most dogs don't like the scratchy feel on their paws so it will help them get used to using the ramp.

good deal for the price
Hello,The product is very well made and very sturdy. It does fold up easily and it's not very heavy so carrying it around is easy.I think the one thing they need to mention is that using the ramp will not come naturally to a dog who is used to jumping in the car. I am currently training my 10-year old border collie mix to use it. He is now on 3 legs and while I have no doubt he'll still be able to jump in the back of my Outlander once he's completely recovered from the amputation, it didn't dawn on me that I would need to teach him how to use it. I am not faulting the product in any way; that's on me. But it would be nice if they would include some instructions or tips on the best way to teach your pet to use the ramp.My 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander is a mid-sized to small SUV and the full size ramp doesn't seem to be too steep. I think if I had gotten the half sized one it would have been way to steep.

Not a ramp to use for in/ out of SUV
Unfortunately this product is only two pieces, so when it is set up to use as a ramp to enter/exit the cargo area of an SUV, its way too steep for a dog to use. I am disappointed that the description did not say that it is not designed to be used out of the cargo area....It would be fine for getting in and out of the back seat of a car/SUV, but any higher and the incline is too much. I have an Audi Q7 for reference, so not a super tall SUV at all. In a nutshell, do not buy this product if you are looking for something to help your pet get in and out of the back of an SUV.

As you can tell by all excellent ratings, this product is a must have for anyone getting a larger dog in and out of a vehicle. This also is the best price I could find.

My Corgi is developing a severe problem with her back legs. She cannot get up and is afraid of stairs. Once she's up, she can move okay, but is easy to push over. This looks like the best option for getting down stairs to the back yard.

My dog is going blind and is on medication that has caused her to gain weight. She can no longer jump up into the back of my vehicle and is too heavy for me to lift her. Hopefully this purchase will give me peace of mind when I need to take her to the vet or on a trip.

I have pregnant female rotties that from time to time have to go to the vet and I do not want them jumping up into the vehicle.

My 90 lb Doberman has bilateral blown out cruciate ligaments so can no longer jump into the car. It's one of his favorite things to do so buying a ramp was crucial.
TINA H on Jan 16, 2015
I needed it; just got a new car and my oldest dog would not be able to get into it had I not purchased it.

As an animal transporter, we sometimes need to move large animals that are having physical problems, preventing them from jumping. This will make loading and unloading of these animals much easier.

lightweight and durable.
took dachshunds a couple tries to get the hang of it...now they prefer it to the steps from the door to the patio

My Weim is aging and I considered geting pet steps, but then decided I should get something portable that could be folded and put away and that could be used at home or for trvel. I saw one reviewer saying it functioned well with a Yukon, so it should work fine with my Tahoe.

I have a 7 year old Corgi with back trouble can I use this ramp on my outdoor steps?
Susan C on Jul 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: These steps didn't work very well for out dogs. We have golden retrievers. They won't go up the ramp.
How heavy is this ramp? I travel to agility trials with my small dogs and need something for them to get on/off of the hotel beds (beds are now very high off the ground). I need something that isn't too heavy to move back and forth between car and hotel room.
Brenda R on Mar 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Sorry for the delayed response. I've been without Broadband for a couple of days while they upgrade something-er-other.

The ramp weighs 12lbs.
