I need dry treats for training, and one of my dogs is very picky. A regular biscuit type treat is not good enough for her, but she will eat these.

high quality treats!
Veronica L on Nov 23, 2018
we used these to train an adult Chow-Chow (notoriously stubborn) to allow herself to be groomed. Previous owner had made grooming a tug-of-war game and the dog wouldn't stand still or be touched by hand once the brush came out. She now lets herself be brushed, keeping a close eye on the liver treat tub!
Cheryl C on Aug 27, 2018
I was told to use this as I train the new puppy. I needed to give her something she will NEVER get unless we are at obedience school, agility classes.

Makes an excellent alternative treat to be offered. Extra good recalls, for example. Dog com has the best prices on 21 ounce out of multiple retailers I checked.
KELLY W on Nov 7, 2017
My dogs get them as treats when at the Vet, they love them, so it helps to "jumpstart" their eating when they are being finicky...

I think they will fit into a kibble ball
Jeanne F on Aug 25, 2017
Add a little to his dried food when he wont eat it.
KATHLEEN M on Aug 18, 2017
They have very few calories and I think I have had only 1 dog that didn't like them. They are wonderful for training treats, or in the case of my spoiled babies, top the dry dog food for incentive to eat.
Rebecca W on Aug 10, 2017
I chose this item because it was highly recommended by our dog trainer. We love the fact that it is freeze dried beef liver and not processed with additional ingredients. Our dog loves this treat!

how long does this stay fresh once opened. I don't use a lot of treats and don't want to waste them! Any recalls on product?
luvpug on Sep 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The expiration date on our package is January 2016, and we ordered them back in March 2014. We opened them right away and they're still fresh as day one. Our pup doesn't eat a lot of treats either so a long shelf life was important to us. I think they'll last a really long time, especially if you put them in an airtight container. I haven't heard of any recalls with this American made product. Our mutt has all kinds of allergies and stomach sensitivities and this is the only treat that he tolerates. Hope this helps!!
How long do they keep?
A shopper on Aug 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The container is heavy duty plastic, and relatively airtight when closed, so I assume they will keep for a long while. I use them for training and I ha e 2 large dogs, so I don't have them for a long time, maybe a month or 2? But I'd be willing to bet they last a lot longer because of their packaging.
Is the liver cooked before it is freeze dried?
Sue M on Feb 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sue, I contacted customer service at Stewart's, and the CSR told me that the liver is not cooked before the liver is freeze dried. The container does not provide any information about their process. I have been purcahsing these tubs for years, and I use a razor utility knife to slice the snacks into smaller pieces to make the tub last longer for our Golden Retrievers.
I was wondering why the front of the container that I have always received did not show "Stewart" on the label or anywhere on the container. Is it a Stewart brand or something else? Thanks
Poodles on Jul 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The container I received looks exactly like that pictured on the website. It is definitely labeled as the Stewart brand.
