how long does this stay fresh once opened. I don't use a lot of treats and don't want to waste them! Any recalls on product?

Best Answer: The expiration date on our package is January 2016, and we ordered them back in March 2014. We opened them right away and they're still fresh as day one. Our pup doesn't eat a lot of treats either so a long shelf life was important to us. I think they'll last a really long time, especially if you put them in an airtight container. I haven't heard of any recalls with this American made product. Our mutt has all kinds of allergies and stomach sensitivities and this is the only treat that he tolerates. Hope this helps!!

Is the liver cooked before it is freeze dried?
Sue M on Feb 27, 2017
Best Answer: Sue, I contacted customer service at Stewart's, and the CSR told me that the liver is not cooked before the liver is freeze dried. The container does not provide any information about their process. I have been purcahsing these tubs for years, and I use a razor utility knife to slice the snacks into smaller pieces to make the tub last longer for our Golden Retrievers.

I was wondering why the front of the container that I have always received did not show "Stewart" on the label or anywhere on the container. Is it a Stewart brand or something else? Thanks
Poodles on Jul 18, 2016
Best Answer: The container I received looks exactly like that pictured on the website. It is definitely labeled as the Stewart brand.
