Product Summary:

Seresto Flea & Tick Collar for Small Dogs
The performance you expect from a topical flea and tick treatment, in a non-messy, easy-to-use collar

The Seresto® Flea & Tick Collar for Small Dogs is an easy-to-use, effective way to kill and repel fleas and ticks. The innovative Sustained Release Technology offers odorless and non-greasy protection for up to eight months. It begins to kill fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours of initial application.

The Seresto® Flea & Tick Collar is for small dogs and features a 15-inch, easy-to-use, no-hassle, waterproof collar size. It can be used by puppies seven weeks and older, weighing up to 18 lb. It kills deer ticks, American ticks, brown ticks, and Lone Star ticks, as well as chewing lice. The dual action protection provides a continuous release of two active ingredients: Imidacloprid controls flea infestations, while Flumethrin effectively repels and kills ticks. The combination works like a monthly topical flea and tick treatment, yet is designed to slowly release the ingredients in low concentrations for eight months.

Did you know? How to Confirm Your Dog Has Fleas

Item Specifications:

Special Safety Feature:
Because some pet parents may be concerned that a small dog could get stuck while wearing the Seresto® Flea & Tick Collar, it is designed with a safety release mechanism, where in the unlikely event your dog is trapped, its own strength is sufficient to widen the collar and offer a quick release. Because the collar is equipped with a predetermined breaking point, a hard pull triggers the breaking of the collar at this point.

Directions for Use:
To ensure the easy to use waterproof collar is applied correctly, read the complete directions for use found in the package insert.

  • Once you are ready to fit the collar to your dog, remove from protective bag immediately prior to use.
  • Unroll collar remove the plastic connectors inside the collar, ensuring that no remnants remain.
  • Insert end of the collar through the buckle.
  • Adjust the collar around the dog’s neck without tightening it too tight (as a guide, two fingers should fit between the collar and the neck).
  • Pull excess collar through the loop(s) and cut off any excess length extending one inch beyond the loop(s).
  • Seresto® comes with three optional reflector clips that can be attached to the collar to help keep your dog visible at night. The reflector clips should be evenly distributed on the non-overlapping part of the collar.

Seresto Flea and Tick Collar.
It was a little expensive, but was recommended by my groomer. We have only had it for about a week now, but seems to be working fine. I had checked around and found dog.com had the lowest price,so I bought it here. I also told my groomer about this lower price, and I'm sure she will pass it on to others, so don't be surprised if you get more requests for this item from new customers.

NOT effective
This collar worked for the first month and now it is not working at all. Very disappointing especially at this price. My dog is whining and chewing constantly now and I feel like this was a total waste of money. There are fleas on my dog all the way up to his shoulders and we are both miserable. I cannot recommend this collar at all, only recommend to stay away from it. I chose this collar after reading the positive reviews and feel very let down.

Something that finally works!
I've tried all the expensive drops, other collars and fleas would just walk across. This collar works I don't have to worry about my pets having fleas or ticks. Great product it's worth the money.

Excellent Product- will use nothing else!
My mini poodle (6.5 yrs, 9 lbs) is getting ready to put on her 4th small dog Seresto collar. Since putting on her 1st collar, 24 months ago, I've NEVER seen ONE tick or flea. Her health & behavior hasn't been affected in ANY way. My mom's 14 lb., 2 yr old Shitz-Tsu is getting ready to put on her 2nd collar, same great experience as described above with my dog. I can't speak to problems others have experienced, (& certainly sorry for those pups), but I'd say those are small percentages of exceptions. My dog did terrible w/ topicals, fought like crazy not to apply, rolled on carpet for 3 days straight trying to rub them off, so Seresto was a miracle product for us. Almost every dog on our street has one! Highly recommend!

The best flea treatment for all dogs.
I've used this product on 3 small dogs with no side effects. Fleas disappear within 3 days. The best treatment and it lasts for 8 months.

Hate fleas and ticks?
Me too. Put the seresto collars on my dogs after finding 10 ticks on them and myself in a 2 day period. No more ticks! I haven't seen a flea either. A little pricey from the get-go, but well worth the money. Shop around for a sale. I recommended them to a friend who has 2 great pyrenese dogs and she found hers on another vet website for even less. But, at $50 each, still well worth the investment

We love this product for our Maltese and terrier mix. This will be our third time buying this product. We had flea infestation on our dogs with the spot treatment and live in Florida where Fleas are an annual problem.

Is there a difference in dosage between the small and large collars?
We have a 19 lb Miniature Schnauzer and we got a large collar by mistake. It's bulkier than the small that he wore last time.
Will the dosage be too high for him?
Bernadette M on Apr 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is not recommended to use the large collar on a small dog as it does contain extra dosage which would harm the dog.
Does the collar expire if you don't use it for many months but want to buy it when it is on sale?

BEST ANSWER: I contacted support via phone and product begins its lifespan when seal is removed and is exposed to air so u can save it by keeping sealed
what size should I order? I have 2 shelties that weigh around 20-25 lbs.

I have a 17 lb jack russ El who wears a 16 inch collar. Would you squeeze a small on or go to large?
A shopper on Jan 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: A small would probably be ok.
when flea season is over can you save the collar for future use by sealing it in an airtight bag?
Mary M on Nov 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe this is actually a question for the manufacturer. Since I live in Indiana in the summer months and Florida in the winter months, my dog wears the Seresto collar year round - replacing it every 6-7 months (depending on how much she swims and gets a bath during the 8-month period). Our home in Indiana is on a lake and backs up to a State Park. Since she's been wearing this collar (approx. 3 years), she has not had a tick or flea on her. Love the collar.
What if my dog is 18 lbs? Which size should I get?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would probably go with the small. My dogs are 15 lbs. and there was a lot of excess that I could cut off.
what size is small dog? I have corgis which could be medium dog.

BEST ANSWER: Hello! the small collar is 15" and the large is 27 1/2".
I have a 2.5lb 6 month old Yorkie. Is it safe for him? Was told his hair might fall out
A shopper on Apr 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Never heard that before I guess it's possible? I have the same breed and started him on the seresto between 6 and 10 months. He was lass that 3 lbs also. It's taking him almost 3 years to get to 7.6 lbs lol But he just did not do well on the drops, made him sick to his stomach. The Seresto did super well! No rash, no hair loss. I do keep the neck fur trimmed, not to the skin though, so it can touch the neck better. I've never had a flea on him nor tick and we are in Ohio. Best of luck with your little one. 🙋🏻♥️
I have two dogs and worry about them licking each others collars. Would they get sick from it? My question
has to do with the Seresto flea and tick collar.
A shopper on May 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I love this collar! It works really well; there have been no ticks or fleas on my dog who normally gets at least 5 or 6 with each outing in the woods. I really don't think your dogs will get sick from licking the collar. I've accidently kissed my dog's flea/tick collar with no adverse effects (a few times)...The collar doesn't have any residue or smell, so unless your dogs are attracted to flea collars, I don't think a few licks will do any harm. I have 3 dogs and have not had any problems with poisoning. By the way, I used to use Frontline Plus, and have found this collar to be more effective, both in cost and use.
I got a tea cup chiaua she is 3lbs is the small dog collar safe to put in her?
Jessica B on Aug 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: yes it is. I would say to leave it a little loose..... to let it rest low low on her neck. They make a collar for small Dogs & Puppies, for dogs 7 weeks of age & older and up to 18 lbs. I have a 7lb dog and the pills and drops and chews made him sick as a puppy. So we really just kept him inside and bathed him monthly until he got a little older and still everything made him ill. Then I think he was about a year and a half when seresto came out and he has had no side effects. 😁 Hope this helps.
XHhave a 2 1/2 pound Yorkey is it safe for him was told his hair might fall out?
A shopper on Apr 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello,

Per the product label:

Slight hair loss and mild skin reactions due to the mechanical irritation of the collar may occur
at the application site which usually recover within 1 or 2 weeks without the need for collar removal.
