Product Summary:

Panacur® C Green Dog Granules

Panacur® C (fenbendazole) is an anthelminthic (dewormer) used in the treatment of certain types of roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, and tapeworm (Taeniid Tapeworms and Taenia Tapeworms) infections in dogs. It is used by veterinarians to treat other parasites as well.

Active Ingredients per Dosage Unit:

Panacur® C is FDA approved for use in dogs only. The usual dose for dogs, based on weight using the chart below, is once a day for three consecutive days. The medication can be mixed with a small amount of the animal's usual food. Dry dog food may require slight moistening to allow for proper mixing. Medicated food must be fully consumed to be effective.
The daily dose for Panacur® C is 50mg/kg (22.7mg/lb.) of body weight. Please refer to the following dosing table for help in finding the right dose for your dog.

Side effects of fenbendazole are rare but may include loose stools. In US clinical studies 3 of 240 dogs (about 1% of the treated dogs) had vomiting associated with use of the product.
This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it. Because humans can contract roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm from pets, it is important to maintain good personal hygiene. It is also important to eliminate fleas on the pet and in the household and to not feed the pet rodents or uncooked meat or fish. To prevent reinfection, daily cleanup of stools is recommended. Store this medication at controlled room temperature (59-86°F).
In the event of an overdose, contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.
Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children.

Great wormer!!!
This product is great. Mix it with some canned food and they eat it right up. this is the only wormer I like to use on my three beautiful girls.

Easy to administer
My wife's Toy Poodle is a little picky about what she eats but I mixed the powder with her food and she didn't hesitate. Seems to work well and will worm her again in about a month.

Product worked as described. Used on my small dogs and big dogs.No more worms..

Works great
I can't seem to kill the whipworm lifecycle so my dogs need to be dewormed regularly. Panacur works great and is inexpensive. The dogs eat it right up and it doesn't seem to affect their stool.

Panacur C is the best
I get this for my dogs and puppies from my vet. I just had to get some from my vet because my adult dog got worms again from my new puppy and nowI don't see worms in her poop. I got 2 of the 4 gram packets for my 80lb dog at my vet for $ 18 so at my vet its a few bucks cheaper. But if I ever need it again I am ordering it offline so I don't gotta keep gonig into the vet with my dog since she is aggressive. But if you have puppies then get Panacur C because it takes care of all types of worms. I do highly reccomend this.

It does work when used correctly!!
With any wormer it needs 2 rounds to be affective. Panacur is the best as it works on so many intestinal parasites. You do 3 days of treatment and then repeat in 3 weeks. if you get it from a vet or get the over the counter need to repeat in 3 weeks.

Simply put it is much cheaper to worm my dogs myself rather than paying a vet to administer the same med's.
I live in the deep south of the U.S. and worm my dogs twice a year as a precaution. I have never had a problem with Panacur and rely on it to work effectively. I have my dogs checked for worms once a year by my vet but they have never had a positive result because of the panacur.

I have a new puppy who weighs about 4 1/2lbs. What dose do you recommend for her 3-day treatment? She was wormed at 6-weeks and I need to follow up with an 8-week treatment. I haven't seen a treatment plan for puppies but I see where one person recommends this for puppies. Thanks..

How many doses are in a box?
Rosemary K on Jun 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Rosemary K, each Panacur 4 gram wormers come 3 indevidual packs per box. I used them back in Febuary and I think they are great. They worked well. I had to put extra tastes in their food to get them to eat it cause they knew something was up.
Do dogs like the taste? What is the best recipe for getting them to take this?

Can I deworm a dog only as a precaution?
Daniel S on May 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can deworm a dog as a precaution, but make sure afterwards you give enzymes to the dog because they get affected by wormers. Some dogs have soft stools days after the deworming, so just keep that in mind. I deworm my dog 4 times a year.
I wormed my dog she's around 3 pounds she's not drinking water I wormed her 2 weeks ago been giving her pedilytie n water is this normal I gave her panacur 1 mg 3 days n when should I reworm her.?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Your dog is very light! is just 3 pounds? make sure her weight. If she weights that because you need to give her the 0.001 of one gram of the pownder in one miligram of water if she weights 3 pounds. Dosage should be by weight. This is the table.
Give 1 gm per 10 lbs body weight. Use daily for 3 days.

Dog WeightPackage Size is Daily Dose*
10 pounds1 gram
20 pounds2 gram
30 pounds1 gram + 2 gram
40 pounds4 gram
50 pounds1 gram + 4 gram
60 pounds2 gram + 4 gram
80 poundsTwo 4 gram
Over 80 poundsUse combinations to obtain recommended daily dose.

You only repeat dosage after one month if there is evidence of actual parasites in her intestine like gardia and other.

Wormers should be used in a cyclic manner every 3 to 6 months year round, as preventive measures.
Can you give the dewormer to a dog who is in heat or just gotten pregnant?
Dee N on Jun 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: you can give dewormer to dogs in heat, I would check with your vet about giving it to your dog if she is pregnant however
My dog weighs 45lb, how much do I need to buy?
A shopper on Mar 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 4 grams is needed for a 40 lb dog. 1 gram needs to be added for a 50 lb dog. Please understand, I'm not a vet, but if it were my dog, i would not worry about the 5 lb overage and go with 4 grams x 3 since you need to treat 3 days in a row.

A shopper on Sep 22, 2018
