good product
I have 3 of these and use them in different locations. I do not use the guard though I have been using dremels for years and feel I can carefully look for the quick and shape the nails the way I need

My dog was very unsure of this product. I did better with traditional clippers from which I purchased from this website. The clippers worked well.
Just not the right product for us.

my puppy is afraid of the nail clippers and she will yip and try to bite when I go to use them. I want to try something new and this might just be something she will let me use on her.

Since this is the first time I'll be grinding my Great Dane pup's nails, I didn't want to spend big money only to find out it scares him. I've had excellent experiences with other Oster products so I'm hopeful that the Oster Gentle Paws Nail Grinder can handle Frank's unbelievably ginormous nails.

Thought this would make nail trimming easier for me and six Yorkies!

To keep my dogs' nails trimmed.

reasonable price -- compared prices with similar items at Walmart and Petsmart, this was the best price for best quality item. Cordless, for ease of use. Has safety guard.

My Oster nail grinder is broken. My dog fights clippers, but will tolerate the grinder.
CAROLYN R on May 29, 2014
Last nail grinder broke. I can't cut the dogs' nails without making them bleed. This won't make the dogs bleed.

I was told there is a nail grinder that stops automatically if hair is accidentally caught in the grinder. Is there such a thing?
Charlene B on Nov 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Sorry I can't help you. I've purchased this item but not used it yet and we have a rather shorthaired (coonhound) dog. We had her nails trimmed when she went in for a check up at the vet recently so it will be a bit before I give the item a try.
does this work well? does it make much noise so that it won't scare my dogs? any problems with it? thanks!
A shopper on Feb 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This works very well. Dogs get used to the noise so introduce it over several days. I do not use the plastic guard around the grinder because it gets in the way. This means you must be VERY CAREFUL to keep any long hair away from the grinder as it will rapidly wind around the device and cause a real scare and possibly injury. One of my dogs I do unaided and the other I have someone hold (especially to keep long whiskers away from grinder). Batteries last a long time.
Where can I order parts?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I apologize but at this time we do not carry the replacement parts for this item.
Does this do well for XL breeds like Great Danes? Even his gentle reminder "Hey! Have you forgotten that I am waiting for you to do fun things with me?" love taps leave marks!
Laura W on Mar 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It claims it can handle even the largest breed dogs.
