Door opens easily
For starters, this is a high quality crate, typical of Midwest. I'm sure it would last a lifetime. My problem is with the MaxLock system, it doesn't work. The first time I put my dog in it, he was out in about 7 minutes, and then it was less than 3 minutes for him to get out after that. With their typical crates, it takes him a lot of pushing to flex to door, this one is much easier for him. The flaw in the MaxLock is that there is nothing to secure the handle that is supposed to hold the door down and latched. It doesn't take much of a bump to release it, then the dog just has to figure out how to lift the door and he's free. I can secure it with an additional clip, but I purchased the MaxLock so I wouldn't have to.I'd like to think that my dog is smarter than most, but I think most pet owners feel the same way about their dogs. Don't waste your time or money with MaxLock.

Is it secure?

BEST ANSWER: We have had this crate for almost 2 yrs now, and I would say it is very secure and well made. We have a 60 lb Golden doodle who is crate trained and uses the crate for morning and afternoon daily periods as well as night time sleeping.
