Why did you choose this?

I have used Mendota rolled leather collars on my dogs for many years. Rolled collars do not flatten the fur and are free of fabric which can pull at the fur. These collars are fine leather and well made. You can get much cheaper collars for half the price, but these collars last the lifetime of a dog and require no care.

Very similar to what she's wearing now, which is on the last hole and snug - time for a new one.

I've use this collar on my 8 year dog since she was an 1 year old. I started using this collar because she would get raw from all the other collars. She's a mix English Springer and Pointer.
GLENDA M on May 17, 2018
We wanted a nice looking, quality leather collar that would not interfere with her training collar. This was exactly what we were looking for and at a great price.
Michael L on Nov 25, 2017
This collar is extremely well made. The part next to the dogs neck is a flat piece of leather instead of two pieces that are stitched together, next to the neck is smooth. Very happy with the quality of the collar.

I chose the Rolled Leather dog collar because it looks like it is made well and the price is better than I found on any other website.
Joan C on Nov 14, 2016
I have a nylon padded collar currently and it is causing the hair to mat under it. I have used rolled collars in the past with other dogs without that problem. I needed a larger size than our local stores, so bought it here.
Michele L on Jul 21, 2016
They look great, well made and made in the USA. They also will look fantastic on my two Dobermans.
Carol S on Apr 1, 2016
I purchased this type of collar before and it lasted 10 years. I loved it.
Sabine C on Feb 3, 2016
I picked this particular dog collar because the reviews were positive for the product.

One of my dogs lost his collar and I like leather, rolled collars.
Katherine W on Jan 15, 2016
Most larger collars are 1" to 1"-1/4" around. I have a big but light-boned mutt who needs a lighter weight collar. I'm hoping that one of these fills the bill.
JUDI L on Oct 29, 2015
I have used item before; it worked well, and lasted well.
ROB A on Sep 28, 2015
High quality leather lasts longer, so it's cheaper in the long run. Leather is better for the skin and rolled is more comfortable for all four of my dogs! Beautifully made, and the bonus is, they are USA made.
Linda R on Aug 20, 2015
I have them in the pass.
Ronald K R on Apr 1, 2015
Rolled leather collars are less damage my dog's coat.
Robin M on Dec 28, 2014
Had same before. Looked great, lasted quite a while, until a Skunk decided it was time to replace collar or Dog. Collar was cheaper than pure bred German Shepherd.
John S on Dec 28, 2014
The style.
Waneeta M on Dec 13, 2014
looking for a leather collar that was thin and not bulky.
Margaret S on Dec 2, 2014
My German Shorthair will enjoy the smaller width collar and the fur will not stick to it. He also loves the water and can keep the collar on!
Cindy W on Sep 24, 2014
It looks sturdy.

medium size what size is it a 20"??
A shopper on Jan 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello, this particular collar is not sized by sm, med and Lg. You will have to measure your dogs neck to get the accurate sizing.
do you have a 16" collar?
roger b on Dec 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This item does not come in a 16" version I am sorry.
My dog's neck measures 16 inches, will your 18 inch collar work?
Patrick on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Please Note - Mendota Standard Collars are measured from the middle of the buckle to the middle adjustment hole. This allows 2" of adjustment smaller and 1” larger. There is no need to add inches to the actual measurement of your dog's neck. The size of the dog's neck is the collar size needed.
I see below this collar comes in 20" can I purchase that size? I don't see it as an option on your size chart.
Beth B on Feb 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This product is offered in increments of 4 inches.
What's the total length of this collar? How strong is it?
A shopper on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The length of the collar I bought is 22 inches Length Over All. The female Curly Coated Retriever I bought it for weighs about 60 lbs. It is extremely well made and very strong. The rolled part is sewn around a leather filler to keep it round; The 3/4 inch designation refers to the width of the leather before it is rolled and sewn. The roller buckle and other hardware is solid brass, not brass plated. Mine has been in continuous use for more than a year, and shows no more than normal wear. I would say that the materials and workmanship are excellent.
Can the leather rolled collars get wet without getting ruined?
A shopper on May 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: My dog's collar has never gotten soaked, but has gotten damp or partly wet when he runs in the yard while the grass is still dewy. The collar is fine. My leather lead has gotten soaked a couple of times and it also survived quite well. I'd check into leather conditioning products for shoe leather if it is likely your collar will be wet frequently.
