Live in the mountains and have an older dog who could use the heat to sleep better.

My dogs get really cold!

I chose the pet bed warmer for my elderly dog, who gets cold easily and is stiff in the morning.

With 2 puppies in the house and me having to leave for work, I'm buying these heaters to put in their beds on the enclosed back porch, which is the perfect place for untrained puppies because there's no carpet on the floor. Unfortunately, there's also no heat registers. Insulation and new doors and windows, but no registers. Hoping these keep my guys snug while I'm at work.

Is this like a heating pad and flexible or is it more like a plate and rigid?

Best Answer: Sort of inbetween would be my best answer. I wrapped it inside a towel & then I added soft hay on top so my cat could fluff it as she preferred. Obviously I'm using this inside my barn! I just read some of the other comments & I want to add this: When it is plugged in (mine is FT), you can put your hand on it and won't feel much heat. This originally concerned me, but then I noticed my cat was in it a lot so it was ok in her opinion. Then I put my hand on it right after she got up & I was amazed at the heat. It was similar to if your cat was laying in your lap. Just enuf heat to sleep comfortably, not enuf to make her miserable. I definitely recommend it. BTW, I put mine inside a cat house, so she has the added comfort of rising heat.
