Terrible construction!
The bowl is made with low quality aluminum, which might be acceptable if the rubber ring would stay on the bowl. From the first feeding, it fell off everytime I washed the bowl. 4 months later, it won't even stay on for a feeding - coming off and making the puppy chase his bowl around the kitchen floor. Very frustrating!

Works relatively well; plastic around bottom rim is garbage
It did work to slow down a VERY large GSD simply because he couldn't get his entire snout into the bowl to gulp the food as he usually does. The rubbery ring around the bottom that was supposed to keep the bowl from sliding around on the floor lasted about 10 seconds (not even through the dog's first meal using it). If they put a decent piece of rubber around the bottom, this product would be more worthwhile. Take a hint.

Excellent product
I have a 3 month old Basset who was inhaling her food so fast that she would then regurgitate it back up, This bowl has ended that. It is well made and sturdy. Doesn't slide across the floor.

Good idea. Not small enough.
My small dog can still gulp food down. This bowl is too large for her.It did me NO good at all.

This dish really worked well for slowing down my dog's eating. We even prop it up and the no skid bottom keeps it securely in place. I would recommend this product to anyone!

Really slows down gulping food!
Very durable bowl and easy to wash. Both of my doodles eat too fast. This slow feed bowl really makes them work harder to get theirKibble or raw food.Had a plastic slow feed bowl which did not last long. Puppy destroyed itBy chewing. Waste of money!

Slowed my dog's eating
The rubber ring on the bottom does not hold the bowl in place on a smooth floor. This has slowed my fast eater down quite a bit. She really has to chase it around to get all the last pieces of food out of it.

Does the trick
I do see a difference in the time it takes my dog to eat her meal. It has made her slow down and I like that the bowl is non skid. I have an elevated eating area for her and while the bowl doesn't fit in the slot, the non skid allows me to sit it over the space and it stays put. Much better than the plastic variety of slow eater bowls.

Hope to slow my German Shepherd down from inhaling his food. Concerned about possible bloat problems from eating too fast. Like stainless steel as it is easy to clean and won't chip or break like ceramic or plastic.

DANA S on May 20, 2015
Vet recommended a stainless slow eater bowl for my King Charles Cavalier as he eats too fast and has been burping. Stainless holds less germs. This is a first step to see if he will slow down reducing the air intake.

Have plastic slow feeders and they cannot be sanitized like the metal bowls

JOY B on Oct 24, 2014
Want bowl that will make dog slow down eating, and like the metal so that the dog(s) won't be able to chew the bowl up.

Mimi H on Sep 12, 2014
because 2 of my 3 dogs inhale their food whole within seconds. I need them to slow down. I prefer the safety of stainless steel bowls too as they are healthier for my dogs than plastic
DEBORAH H on Aug 25, 2014
I needed a way to get one of my dogs to take longer to eat. I felt this would be easier to clean and last longer than plastic versions.
Jill B on Aug 22, 2014
While taking care of my son's dogs, and our dogs, I liked how their dogs fed from these bowls, and it really slowed them down and seemed to keep them more satisfied than when ours gulp it down in standard bowls.
Susan H on Jun 27, 2014
Would like to stay away from plastic products if possible.

What size bowl do I need for a voracious westie?
Wendy T on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have a pretty good size beagle (35 lbs) and large size was good for him. However, I had issue with him eating his food too fast; so this bowl wasn't successful at slowing him down much. I found "fun feeder" by Outward Hound and they come in different sizes too. I purchased both regular and mini size and both work really well. Mini works for me since I feed my dog twice a day in smaller portion. hope this helps.
