Product Summary:

Himalayan Dog Chew

The Himalayan Dog Chew is a very hard type of chew.  Although it is considered a cheese, it is incredibly durable.  Depending on the size and eating habits of your dog, it is the longest lasting chew you will find.  Your dog must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small pieces of it can be slowly scraped off.  It is 100% natural with no preservatives.  When you give your dog this chew, you know that you are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment.

This is what I give my pit bull when I need her busy for a while. She's a string chewer and these taker her quite a while to get through.

Approximate size please?

Best Answer: The XLarge ones are about 8" long. (You can saw the big ones in half, too. We've tried it.) We have a 2 yr old Westie who is a constant chewer. We started giving him the smaller chews when we first found these chews, but he really likes holding the big ones in his front paws. It gives him a challenge, I think. I must have 15 chunks of various chews all over the house. We never see Oscar without a yak chew next to him. Seriously. He adores these and my vet says they are a far better treat than rawhide from any country. I think your dog will enjoy whatever size you get him.

Is it safe for puppies?
A shopper on Mar 18, 2016
Best Answer: I have a chinese crested hairless and ended up taking her to emergency hospital after she got a piece caught in her throat. After that I would set timer and only let her chew it for 10 minutes. She loved them but when the supply ran out I did not buy any more. I now use Halo chews but I do watch carefully.
If you buy a large one and can discard it before you get to the point it is small enough to choke on that will work too.
Hope this helps you to decide.
