The collar works great walking is a treat no pulling.
The collar works great. Im a senior citizen and getting it attached required pliers and my husbands help. There has got to be an easier more effective clasp. It comes off easier but getting it on is
Difficult and my dog gets pretty upset.

My dog is nearly full grown now and needed the extra links. These days I only put it on so he knows we mean business and I do not need to pull on his lead at all.

Needed the smallest prongs for highest sensitivity per my dog trainer friend. My dog's neck is a 16" so I ordered additional prongs.

My dog trainer has taught me how to use the prong collar and my 7 month old puppy likes it better than the transitional lead. He is growing and I needed more links.

KATRINA C on Jul 2, 2016
Dog trainer suggested smaller gauge collar because it's lightweight and less likely to slip down neck. The smaller gauge is shorter, so I need to add links for a larger dog.

Herm Sprenger Collars are made of German Steel and live up to their strength. Other less expensive brands use a softer steel and the prongs bend out of shape which leads to the collar opening unexpectedly. It's quality unsurpassed.

I purchased the 14 inch collar months ago but now as my border collie has grown can I just add the links to this or is it better to buy the medium weight ?collar?
Susan S on Mar 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Either/or
Can you tell me the weight category for each size. I believe the 14" is for dogs up to 40lbs? Can you tell me the other weight capacities.
A shopper on Oct 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: if you're asking about the collars, you need to measure your dogs neck, collar should fit snuggly just below the dog’s ears, measure the circumference of dog's neck and add 2". It doesn't go by the weight.
are you able to make the collar 10" for a smaller dog?
Leigh on Mar 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can take links out. However, you want to buy the smallest collar and then work yourself up if needed by adding links that you can purchase. You want to make certain the collar fits properly up the neck and behind the ears. A poor fitted color will not benefit the dog or it's human.
How do I measure the links size on my collar? (so I can order more links)
A shopper on Jul 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: On a 20 inch heavy gauge prong collar: EACH additional link will give you 1 3/8 inches extra length. ( This was determined measuring from center the bend of link on one end, to the center of bent loop on other end.) Also, when adding links, be sure to have the flat plate that's on the collar, in the middle and then add links trying to keep each side of collar with the same number of lengths.
There are four mm sizes of links for the collars, but only three sizes of extra links. Are the large extra links 3.2 or 3.8 mm?
A shopper on Oct 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Below are the sizes for this product.

Sizes:
Lightweight: 14" (2.25mm)
Mediumweight: 18" (3.0mm)
Heavyweight: 20" (3.25mm)
how many links come in a package?
A shopper on May 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Just one.
chrome 2.5 mm links?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Question is unclear. Please add more detail to your question.
Do the links fit the "snap prong"collar also ( item # 100205 ) ? It says for item # 100204 ? Thanks
A shopper on Sep 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Fits Herm Sprenger Collar (item #100204)
