not what I expected
the extra part that was supposed to tighten as he pulls on lease seemed to hang down and was afraid he would get caught up in it. I was looking for a collar he could permanently wear. I returned it

Great For Training
I used a prong collar for my dog as suggested by my trainer. I grew uncomfortable with the prong collar as it served its purpose to help redirect my dogs anxiety, and i no longer wanted to have her wear it due to the negative perception of pitbulls and aggressiveness. I saw this collar and ordered it. It works on the same premise, giving a gentle reminder, when needed and she complies and her anxiety is gone. Lucy also likes that it came in pink!

Martingale Collars are Great!
I was advised by a professional dog trainer/rescuer that Martingale collars are the only collars that he would ever use. I have a Bouvier des Flandres who is a definite Alpha dog. I need a durable, tough but attractive collar for him. I never fear on our walks. Very easy to rein in the dog if necessary, but also comfortable for him to wear.

The Martingale dog collar-style is best for any dog. It does not choke them, but does let them "know" not to pull. It's the only choice for my dogs.

Bets idea in dog collars in year, allows the collar to tighten so it can't slip off if the dog pulls, but is wide enough it won't hurt like a chain choke collar and loosens up nicely when the dog stops pulling.

I'm training a neighbor's dog and I've used Martingales in the past and loved them!

I like a martingale collar so that it doesn't slip over the head. However, I prefer one with a clip.

Will be boarding at a kennel that does not allow pinch collars. Needed a collar that wouldn't slip of my dog's head. He's not comfortable with a harness.

As soon as one of our dog Fosters arrives I put one of these collars on them and they go to their new home with the collar. It keeps them safe and I don't have to worry about them slipping their collar and getting lost.

When we rescued our 5 year old lab this May from a local shelter, he had this collar. They let us keep it. It's a great collar but getting a bit stinky from him going in the creek. Even though it washes well, I think it's great to have a spare on hand so I ordered another. Great collar.

I am trying this product out for a dog who pulls. She is a greater swiss mountain. She does well with a prong but wanted to try something different.

does this come in 3/8 inch width?

BEST ANSWER: Try item #400613
My dog has a 15" neck. He is 1 yr. old. Which collar would be best?
A shopper on Dec 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think it depends on his breed and how much more growing he is going to do. If he is a breed type that is basically done growing at a year (toy) then the 18 to 26 in would be fine a little loose on his neck but might be tight going over his head (again depends on breed).
