I did a ton of research before concluding that, according to the internet, this cage is the best choice for ferrets.

Needed a smaller cage for our vacation home and am hoping this smaller version works well.
MONICA M on Jun 5, 2016
I have the 182 and 183 add-on unit for my rabbits. When these units are stacked three high, my rabbits don't go to the upper level, so I am purchasing another floor level unit to have two separate cages, each two units high.

I foster kittens. Is it big enough for 2 kittens?
Heather B on Jul 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It would be large enough to comfortably house one kitten, and I would say two at the very most. More than that would become cramped. Once they become adolescent however, you would want a bigger unit.
Would this be good for 2 guniea pigs? They'll gets LOTS of attention but still Id like them to have plenty of room in their habitat.
Amanda H on Dec 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Guinea Yes, it ia a fantastic cage. I purchased it for my Grandchildren along with 2 Guinea pigs.It is tough, and very roomy. It is also very easy to clean. The pigs can easily kick out your hay, or pellets, ect. So we purchase a large plastic bucket that went up 6" or so and filled the entire lower level. Problem solved for under $10.00. .
Will this work for Guinea pigs?
Aaron D on Jul 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Guinea pigs need longer cages, most people make cc cages for them. I know that my guinea pig would hate this cage because of how little floor space there would be after adding her litter box and bed and everything.
Does this come with a bottom pan?
A shopper on Oct 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes, but "pan" may imply that the perimeter is raised significantly... which it is not. there are accessories which attack to the base "pan" to raise the height to something more like a shallow litter box, but they're only necessary if you plan on putting bedding down on the entire bottom of the cage.
can the wheels be removed?
A shopper on Feb 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You don't have to put the wheels on it, but the height the wheels add and the fact that it can be moved makes it a lot easier to clean under it.
How wide are the cage bars apart? Would it be suitable for 1 fancy rat?
A shopper on Jan 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Depends on how small your rat is. If your rat is an adult, then yes. Juvenile and young rats could probably wiggle out.
Will this work with the Critter Nation add-on?
A shopper on Aug 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes they work just fine together. We started with two ferret nation single unit cages (model 181) for our two chinchillas and bought two critter nation cage add-ons (Model 163) to add to them, they fit perfectly with no issues.
how many square feet is this cage?
A shopper on Feb 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 36"L x 25"W x 38½"H. or 20.04 cubic feet. By the way the second level falls down easily and is heavy enough to hurt most small animals. If your thinking about getting the cage keep that in mind. I would recommend replacing the second level with more secure levels or hammocks. Ive been able to use mine that way. Mine also arrived with a sharp piece of metal sticking out so be careful before putting any animals inside. I tried to leave a review before but the site would take it down. Hope you can see this before its taken down.
Can stand be removed?
Jamba on Dec 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, but this product is Amazing. I have had it for 2 years now and it is by far the best that I have seen. My ferrets love it. Easy to clean. I keep their supplies on the shelf underneath. We also have a hammock that easily attaches to the top. I recommend this to everybody. :)
