Dexamethasone 0.1 O/S 5mL
Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Solution 0.1% is a coritcosteroid that works by inhibiting the processes in the body that cause inflammation, reducing swelling and pain.

Dexamethasone is used to treat eye inflammation caused by infections, injury, surgery, or other conditions.

Cautions:
This medication does not have an FDA approved indication for use in animals, but it is a common and acceptable practice for veterinarians to prescribe this human medication for use in animals. \p Inform your veterinarian prior to use of this medication what other medication you are giving to your pet, including but not limited to other eye drops and/or eye medications. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. \p Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
Side effects:
Possible side effects may include: tearing, redness, blurring of vision, and itching which may result in your pet rubbing their eyes. With prolonged use, this medication may increase the pressure in the eye (glaucoma), may reduce wound healing, or may lead to infection. Other side effects may occur, if you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Usage:
Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Solution should be applied as directed by your veterinarian. Administer prescribed dose by pulling down on the bottom lid of your pet’s eye and dropping the prescribed drop(s) into the eye. Exercise proper caution not to touch the dropper or tube opening to any surface including eyes or hands as that may contaminate the sterile surface. Wash hands before and after application.
