Potty Bells
Only color available was black for the price I wanted but that is ok. These are great and exactly what I needed without breaking the bank

Product is a waste of money
The bells are on a long strap and cannot be heard when dogs hit them. More bells are needed. I shake the bells when I tell the puppies to go outside, and they have learned to go to the door when they need to go. I had a strap with keys on them that were louder than the bells.

Wonderful
These bells are a God-send. Our Beagle puppy took to them immediately and no longer has accidents in the house (unless it's the middle of the night). We purchased 3 for our home-two outside doors and one for our bedroom door. Our Beagle is a little devious, so she often rings the bells when she wants to go outside to play but I'd much rather let her out too much than not enough. It's wonderful for her to have a way to communicate her needs to us.Our adult dog is not really interested in the bells and does not use them. We are not sure if he is skiddish of the bells themselves or if this is because we let both dogs out whenever the puppy rings the bell. He rarely has accidents in the house at all so this is not really a concern.I recommend wrapping the door tether around the knob several times to secure the bells well. This does not impede our ability to use any of our doors and prevents our active dogs from yanking the bells off the handle.

excellent price for the potty training bell
I was initially planning on buying the materials to make a training bell myself, but when I saw this one on Dogs.com for the price they were asking, I knew it would cost me more to make out than to buy this item. This is a well made bell, with snaps to adjust it for height. It easily hangs from the door knob where you take your dogs out to "potty."

Excellent Housebreaking Tool
As a professional breeder, it's important to me to start my puppies off right with their training. The Coastal Potty Training Dog Bells are included with my "Puppy Starter Kits" and are an excellent tool to encourage successful housebreaking. The bells are attractive, durable and competitively priced. Dog.com is one of my top go to sites for dog supplies!

Great product for the price.
The strap is made out of ribbon-like material - be sure puppy doesn't play with it or it won't last long; my puppy is 9 months now so I don't have to worry about that. For the price of these bells I actually purchased 3 so I could have one for the downstairs door, a person's house we always visit and a spare to have in the car in case we visit someone's house. Easy to train a puppy to use.

Was looking for something just like this. I have some small bronze bells that I'd used for previous dogs, but current rescue dog would be afraid of the noise I'm certain -- too strong a noise.

I will be bell training my dogs to go outside -- training with the bell provides a very clear and effective way for the dog to communicate when he needs to go out.

how does it work?
mary p on Nov 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: it takes time. Everytime one opens the door, swing the bell so it would ring. Eventually, the dog will ring the bell with it's nose when it wants to go out. Problem. Hard to say no to dog when it rings the bell and you don't want to let it out. Also, you need to be in the same room so you can hear the bell.
