Product Summary:

What is Bravecto?

Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats is a topical medication (applied directly to your cat's skin) containing fluralaner. Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and the treatment and control of Ixodes scapularis (black-legged tick) infestations for 12 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months of age and older, weighing 2.6 pounds or greater. Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats is also indicated for the treatment and control of Dermacentor variabilis (American dog tick) infestations for 8 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months and older and weighing 2.6 pounds or greater.

Who is it for?

Bravecto Topical Solution is for cats only. Cats must be 6 months of age and older, and 2.6 lbs. of body weight or greater.

What are the benefits?

Easy-to-apply topical with fluralaner protects your cat from disease-carrying fleas & ticks. Kills adult fleas, treats & prevents flea infestations for up to 12 weeks. Treats & controls black-legged tick infestations for up to 12 weeks. Treats & controls American dog tick infestations for up to 8 weeks.

How does Bravecto Topical Solution work?

The active ingredient in Bravecto is fluralaner. Fluralaner works on the nervous system of fleas and ticks, causing hyperexcitation and death.

Is there a generic equivalent available?

No.

How is it given?

Bravecto Topical Solution should be administered topically as single dose every 12 weeks according to the Dosage Schedule included with the product. Bravecto Topical may be administered every 8 weeks in case of potential exposure to Dermacentor variabilis ticks. Treatment with Bravecto Topical may begin at any time of the year and can continue year-round without interruption. The single-dose applicator tube is easy to use. Simply open the applicator, part the hair on the cat's neck at the base of the head and apply. Make sure you get the medication directly on your cat's skin, not on the haircoat. Do not let your cat lick herself until the product dries (approximately 30 minutes after application).

Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian.

This medication should only be given to the pet for whom it was prescribed.

What results can I expect?

Bravecto Topical Solution is a topical medication (applied directly to your cat's skin) containing fluralaner. Bravecto Topical kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and the treatment and control of Ixodes scapularis (black-legged tick) infestations for 12 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months of age and older, weighing 2.6 pounds or greater. Bravecto Topical is also indicated for the treatment and control of Dermacentor variabilis (American dog tick) infestations for 8 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months and older and weighing 2.6 pounds or greater.

Treatment with Bravecto Topical may begin at any time of the year. In areas where fleas are common year-round, treatment should continue the entire year without interruption. To minimize the likelihood of flea re-infestation, it is important to treat all animals within the household (along with the environment) with an approved flea product.

What should I discuss with my veterinarian while considering Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats for my pet?

If fleas or ticks are already present, discuss what other control measures should be used. Talk about what flea products to use on any other pets in the household, since all pets should be treated if there is an infestation. Have your veterinarian explain the life cycle of the flea and how that influences the effectiveness of flea products. As with any medication, notify your veterinarian of any other medications or supplements your pet is taking, and also if your pet has had any reactions to previous medications or supplements.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, contact your veterinarian for advice on when to give the next dose.

Bravecto Topical Solution is only for cats. Do not use in cats less than 6 months of age or less than 2.6 lbs. of body weight. Do not use Bravecto Topical Solution on dogs. Bravecto Topical Solution should only be given to the animal for whom it was prescribed.
