Why did you choose this?
Dog.com Store
I chose the black/blue/silver combination which is handsome and dark enough not to show all the dirt. These slip leads are well-made and the price is excellent.

Required lead for volunteer dog walking at a local animal shelter

Love the feel and the look of this lead. Very sturdy and comfortable for my dog. I have a collie and this lead is so much easier to use than trying to work my way through his hair and snap a lead to his collar. It is also very lightweight.
Ruth J on May 19, 2017
The dog that we are about to foster to adopt visited and his foster mom had this type of lead. It seemed to do a good job and I'd like to continue what he is use to. Also, it got some very good reviews and the price was reasonable.

what is the weight limit for these slip leads?
Carole on Jun 22, 2015
Best Answer: Hello, this slip lead is not listed as having any weight restrictions.

Does slip lead have an elastic effect? That is, is there a springiness to the lead when a correction is made? I'm seeking to find a slip lead with a taut braid that is not spongy or springy, so that the correction is felt immediately and not delayed.
Monica G on Oct 9, 2014
Best Answer: This leash does not have elastic properties. It is a braided and sturdy leash

How thick is the rope?
Louis L on Feb 13, 2015
Best Answer: 1/4-1/2"? Not sure of the measurement. It is thick enough to be sturdy and not pinch or hurt the dog's skin. I use the leash for Rescue transports and am very pleased with it.

what material is the leash made of? Nylon?

Also, what is the thickness of the lead? 3/8" or 1/2"
Don H on May 18, 2015
Best Answer: I order these often because people keep complimenting me on them and I give them away. They are made of a nylon or polyester but they DO NOT fray like some that I have bought. And they are JUST the right thickness not too big for the puppies and not too small for the grown dogs. And the quality of the bindings is EXCELLENT. There are some that just have two places where they are stitched. These are stitched continuously three loops on the ring end and the loop end for the owner. You cannot go wrong! I have paid twice what I pay for these and the quality is not half as good.

A shopper on May 19, 2016
Best Answer: Getting these leashes cheaper than dog.com is almost impossible! they buy in bulk to the manufacturer in order of 10,000 or more! stick to dog.com.

Have you ever gotten rope burn from this leash?
Elizabeth B on Sep 15, 2014
Best Answer: None of my dogs have gotten rope burns from these leashes (2 that are mine and 3 fosters). The rescue group I was with also uses these leashes to walk the pups/dogs at events and they do not have any problems. These leashes are ideal in preventing dogs from escaping and they learn quickly not to pull.

Can these leads be washed/sanitized ?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2017
Best Answer: Hi there,

I spoke with the manufacturer who stated that to was a "few times" may be okay, but the lead and especially the leather handles will wear and break down over time. She stated to perhaps use a spray disinfectant and/or a hand sanitizer on the nylon portion.

Hope this helps!

will you send to the UK ?
Michael P on Aug 3, 2016
Best Answer: I have no idea whether dog.com sends out of the country. In fact, I am irritated that dog.com's algorithm sent your question to me. I ship nothing, and if they keep this up, I may place my orders elsewhere!

I want to place my order for 6 slip leads, 3 different colors. The price for 6 or more should be 5.94 ea. Why does the total not reflect that?
Maria M on Mar 15, 2017
Best Answer: I am sorry for the inconvience. Our website views each color option as a different item and that is why you are not getting the discount for ordering 6 or more leads. Please if you have further questions regarding the recent order, please contact our Customer Service at Phone: 1-888-809-0750, Monday - Friday: 8am ET - 6pm ET. We would be happy to work with you

How do you used this Slip lead harrness on my door?
A shopper on Sep 5, 2016
Best Answer: I am not a dog trainer and we did not use a slip lead on our dog so I am unsure. But I do see that if you search for this question there are several instructional videos as well as articles on how to safely use this type of lead
