Calories Analysis

This food contains 3,510 kcal per kilogram or 400 kcal per cup ME (metabolizable energy) on an as fed basis (calculated).

Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.

Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet.

Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness.

Wellness Whitefish and Sweet Potato, 6/23/2008

Jean Seibert from Wabash, IN

This particular dog kibble has alleviated hot spots and other allergies my terriers used to exhibit. Gone are the days of special visits to the vet or special medicines for the allergies. It has been such a long time, that I have forgotten the name of the little orange pill!

Wonder Food, 5/2/2007

K from Pa

My Rottie was on the verge of baldness. Skin was in rough shape and her ears were not happy campers. I looked for a simple ingredient dog food without wheat or corn that also had the omegas in it and this won. The white fish is great for her coat and skin and lack of wheat did wonders for her. I coudnt be happier with not having to vaccum 3 times a day.

Not for every dog, 8/9/2006

Kate from New York, NY

Wellness Fish & Sweet Potato has high quality ingredients, and my dog loved the taste. However, it caused horrible gas and loose, voluminous stools. Buy the smaller bag first to find out it it works for your dog.

wonderful!, 6/27/2006

Catherine from Chicago

After years of medicating my dog through the winter due to allergies, I finally found Wellness. He had gone beyond simple allergy medicines like Benadryl, and at one pont was even put on steroids to try to control his itching. Once I started him on Wellness, he was so much improved that I can go most of the winter with no medicines, and can keep his itching under control with supplements. He's also a very picky eater, and I find that he's more likely to eat this than many other brands. I enthusiastically recommend it! --Cathie

I adopted a 6 year old golden retriever. He had terrible allergies, arthritic, and poor energy level. He has been eating this for 4 years, and he acts like a spring chicken. His allergies have minimized (he is allergic to other stuff too).
