I actually bought this for my pet mini pig. I already have a bed for him, I plan on using this as a litter box. A regular litter box is too small for him to use, but I'm hoping this will be just right once I fill the ventilation holes at the bottom. The U-shape is the selling point for me because pigs have short legs and fat bellies, so I know he won't have a hard time with this. Looking forward to getting it in the mail!

Shipping weight on small size shows 2 pounds - a medium jumps to 33 pounds and a large shows shipping weight of 60 pounds ! Is this just a typo ? 60 pounds I can't move ...
A shopper on Mar 25, 2014
Best Answer: I have all three sizes. 2 lbs sounds about right for the small. The medium is maybe 5 lbs, but no more than 10 lbs, and the large is probably between 8-13 lbs. Nowhere near 60 lbs! It must be a typo. Really nice beds too. My dogs are rough, and these have really held up, although the covers aren't worth the money. I just buy blankets to put in them.

is this a good bed for dogs weighing 65 & 70 lbs?
A shopper on May 12, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, I would say so. I have a very small English bulldog, 45 lbs, and he doesn't take up half. I expected him to be larger. I have a 75 pound lab that could curl up in it easy. I recommend the long cover also because it actually is long enough to fit under the edge and holds perfectly with no slipping. I do put the pad under instead of over for easier washing. Hope this helps.

Is is flexible enough to squeeze in through the door of a kennel?
L. M on Oct 23, 2015
Best Answer: No, these are not flexible. So it would depend on the size of the crate you were trying to use it in. If it does not fit through the door it could be inserted when the crate is disassembled. If you are using a wire type crate, you could insert it before you lifted up and secured the end panels. And if you were using one in a plastic travel type crate you could unbolt the top lid to set it in.

Did your lg size dog crack the plastic yet? Six mths in crack? Does the faux sheepskin liner keep falling off every time the dog gets in?
A shopper on Feb 18, 2014
Best Answer: I have several of these beds in the medium size, and one in the small size. One of my dogs is 50 lbs and she is still able to curl up in the small size and she has long legs but can still curl up quite small. The only one that cracked on the bottom was because I once stepped into one with one foot while trying to reach for something that the bed was in front of. I weigh 115 lbs. but the bed is still usable unless I wanted to put it on a wet surface outdoors. I use all my beds indoors. As far as the elastic is concerned, I have the Honeycomb cover and pillow Item #493229 which even surrounds the lip of the bottom of the bed. That one does not slip off. I also have the UDesign Ombre Swirl cover and pillow item # 493228 which fits around the upper lip of the bed just like the faux sheepskin cover they make. Making sure it is fitted correctly helps but one of my dogs has chewed through the cover edge to get to the elastic. I bought a thicker elastic cord from a fabric store and restrung it. You could easily make a tiny hole in the bsck of the band that has the elastic in it and pull it through and tie it tighter. The bed I replace the cord with does not slip off anymore.
