I have owned this crate for about one year. I have never had a single problem with any of the latches or anything else. I travel with it all the time. Also, another person commented that there was no way to secure it. They are incorrect. There are two bungee ropes on the bottom of the crate. You take the metal latches off on the sides and hook those bungees on the plastic that sticks out. It can be difficult to fold up on your own if you have a medium or large cage, but it can be done. I have also never had a problem with the garage-like door.

Bought this (med size) 4 months ago for my Cavalier Spaniel puppy. He's grown from 4.5 lbs to 13 and this crate has been PERFECT for him. Yes, the latches could be sturdier but just be gentle when opening and they will be fine. I've not had any broken latches. I particularly like the top lid. It makes it so easy to pick up the puppy from the crate, and he enjoys the good airflow. I would definitly buy this crate again.

I echo the criticisms of the other reviewers. The crate weighs a ton. The clips do not hold the crate together tightly, so every joint rattles, if you use it in the car. It is very annoying. Finally, the "garage door" type door is tricky to secure closed tightly. I have had it come undone at the top, and collapse inward, so I would not recommend this crate as a secure enclosure. The only thing the crate has going for it is the appearance. People always admire it, but its disadvantages are significant, such that I rarely use it, unless it is the only crate available.

Not good for travel as is a total pain to take down and setup, sometimes I feel like in need of two people to do it. Looks nice tho

This is an excellent concept for a dog crate. It is hard so my dog cannot dig out of it or rip soft cloth and folds to close. We were very excited to use it.
However, after purchase, we observed with trepidation that the plastic locks and snaps seemed light-weight and unsturdy. Sure enough, after two uses, one of the main locks broke off.
Second, while it collapses down, there is no way to secure it in the down position. It has a handle and wheels, but if you attempt to roll it, it will unfold like an accordion.
We were very disappointed with this product, as it held such potential.

We kept our 40 pound female weimaraner in one of these but only used the crate for a few weeks. She loved to bounce around inside and got a bit anxious to get out when we got home. Even at 40 pounds, she was able to break the clips on and break out of the largest of the crates. Unlike other open format crates, you cannot secure this with wire ties because the clips break where the door opens.
It is not for every dog.
