Rated 5 out of 5 by He loves it! I have a beagle puppy and he loves this food and I love the brand the only complaint I have is that the food smells alittle since it is made of salmon and can sometimes make him have smelly breath. Otherwise it's a great grain free dry food that is good for dogs since it contains no fillers! I'm excited for him to try the other favors! November 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Entry Level Grain Free Several premium grain free foods as well as TOTW have been part of the food rotation for several years. TOTW is a good, basic, entry level grain free food. It is not as high in protein or calories as some of the premium grain free foods which may work best for many dogs and their owners. TOTW is one of the most cost effective grain free foods available. My 3 beagles have no digestive problems with this food, their coats shine and they enjoy the taste. Be aware that TOTW is a Diamond brand food. Diamond has had quality control problems for months and has recently undergone a large recall due to Salmonella causing human illness. The results of the FDA inspection can be found online. May 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Food, Great Price! When I first got my pom, I started her on Iams, it was alright for while, then I switched her and her sister onto Science Diet. No problems until about six months after, loss of coat, and dull eyes. I switched to Blue Buffalo, great food, way pricey, and they don't really like it. Then Wellness, they love this food, but way pricey. Then Taste Of Wild. This is an amazing food, and they kept coming back. Great price to, switching them to this for good. January 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great ingredients, reasonably priced I am super particular about what I give my dogs - both with sensitive stomachs. Most "grain-free" products are too rich for their stomachs and give them gas. I look for: No Corn, No Wheat, No By products; as well as a healthy grain like brown riceis the healthiest, or potato. My favorites (I also like to give them a variety, so I switch flavors) are the Taste of the Wilderness, Chicken Soup, and Bench and Field Organic. All of these are reasonably priced, easy to digest and Really Good for them. (my dogs aren't too picky, so I can't speak to the flavor-factor) January 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food My rat terrier is allergic to chicken. It is hard to find a fish based, grain free food that doesn't have chicken meal in it. This food fits the bill. I also have a chocolate lab and have had no skin or ear issues using this food. I recommend grain free food to everyone I talk with about pet food. October 3, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Taste of the Wild dry food When we adopted our dachshund a year ago this was to food that she had been eating while being fostered. She LOVES it..and growls at her bowl if I try to sneak in another brand! Our vet likes it as well and suggested we keep Daisy on the Call of the Wild for our wild little doxie! September 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Taste of the wild a very good dry dog food February 13, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Product!!! I have Pomeranian's, Bulldogs and a Bichon Frise and they all love this dog food. All have maintained a good weight and vitality. My pups are strong and seniors are quite agile. December 29, 2010

Best Answer: Good Evening!
I ordered this food for daughter's miniature dachshund who is 16 yrs. old. I feed my dog (3yr old. Havanese/Poodle mix) Taste of the Wild Duck, Bison, or Wild Boar. I switch it up for variety. We went to the Houston Dog Show and talked with the TOTW vendor. We got lots of samples. He convinced us to try the Salmon for the older dog because she was having trouble digesting her other food....diarrhea,vomiting, etc. She would also go through "no eating" spells when she wasn't feeling well (which were getting more frequent). We tried the Pacific Stream for her and she began putting on weight, getting stronger, digestive problems went away, and she seemed to have more steadiness and "zip" when she walked. I don't give it to my dog because I don't like the fish smell, but she doesn't have any issues and LOVES her variety TOTW. I feel like we definitely can see a difference in the old doxie. She looks better, feels better, and doesn't do as much of the "ear flapping" (I'm sure you know what I mean) any more. It is definitely worth a try for you. It is at its best for dogs with sensitivity issues.

My german short hair loves this food too much and is getting fatter by the day. Do they have a seniors or the best dog food for older dog?
A shopper on Dec 19, 2014
Best Answer: No offense, but you need to be more diligent and take control of your dog's
eating habits. Follow the suggested chart. If your dog is overweight you
might reduce the amount by 1/4 cup. A regular exercise program is essential,
especially for large dogs . An hour 2X a day is ideal.
