I have a 4lb Chihuahua. At first I was a bit worried about the smell of this after reading the reviews. Yes, it is strong for about two days. I followed the directions exactly and I used it outside. It smells like cloves and the lingering scent actually reminded me of the holidays. I had taken my dog to a friends where she was totally bombarded by fleas. After a bath I put this on her and everything stays away. Absolutely no sign of fleas, ticks and it keeps the mosquitoes away. She did a bit of rolling around on the ground as they usually do after being groomed. Avoid the face, nose, mouth and eye area and wash your hands thoroughly after handling your pet. I also found that it works as a great repellent to keep neighbors dogs out of my yard. It would be great if it were available in an industrial size container.

As others have said, my dog HATES the smell! After using this product he smelled like a spiced ham which is probably the best he's ever smelled. But, considering the ingredients, it makes sense that it smells that way, and in fact, I actually like it. But make sure you contact the skin the the spray and hold the fur back against the normal lay of it, otherwise the product might not get where it needs to be. Our dog had a large tick on him about 2 weeks after the first application, and I admit that I didn't exactly apply it as the instructions said to. I do know that it DOES kill insects instantly - I sprayed it on a wasp in flight and it dropped right to the deck! You can safely apply it as often as needed. Others have noted that it's important to spray it on the feet, since (in spite of popular belief), that's where many fleas and ticks get onto the dog. This product is a great idea, and if you haven't tried it you probably should.

I use it in conjunction with a more effective topical (Frontline) for hiking with my dog. I spray her belly, legs, lower chest and tail. Seems to keep the bugs away.
I do not trust it totally to handle fleas--especially if you are in a bad flea area.

My dog hates this spray he actually ran off into the bushes to try to get it off when I put it on him. However, it is natural and it does its job. It has an overpowering scent but after a while it tones down and smells nice. I's like a built in cologne. My dog didn't have any allergic reactions and it does it's job. I have seen NO type of flea, tick or any other insect on my dog since I started using this. Overall it's a nice buy and I would recommend this all natural product.

My dogs aren't real enthused about it, but it doesn't hurt them or give them allergy attacks like the non-natural flea remedies. Bugs really hate this stuff! Kills any bug on contact, and now that fleas stay away, I buy it solely to kill and repel the ant population who tries to move into my house. Ants don't even try to go near this stuff! It has been a savior to me when I thought ants were going to carry off my house! And since it is pet-safe, the only bug-killer I feel safe using around my dogs!

First of all this stuff stinks! I sprayed it one my dogs and they looked at me like I was gonna throw them on the BBQ. It kills on contact butby the end of the day my dogs still had tick crawling around. I was looking for something not as harsh as frontline spray. I guess it is back to frontline and sentry xpc. Waste of money

I LOVE the herbal and earthy scent of this stuff, it smells SO good. My mother cant stand the smell, though, so idk... I have safely used this product on my dogs, cats, ferret, rat AND rabbit. It kills pretty quickly and repels for a LONG time, the only issue i had was the quality of the bottle itself, before i had used the entire product, the pump on the bottle quit working and i had to buy a spray bottle from the drugstore... Other than that glitch, I would use this product FOREVER! Also, the Natural Defense spot-on stuff is basically the exact same stuff as this, if its different at all, just so you know... I would save money and buy this instead of those if you have a bunch of pets like me.

We completely sprayed our cat down with the product from head to toe, and our poor cat still suffered from flea bites all over his body, he then scabbed up from all the bites and was constantly licking the wounds. I strongly do NOT recommend this product for your cat.

This product not only kills the fleas but has a fresh scent. I have tried so many products and nothing compares to this one.
