Our medium-sized dog is pretty good with his toys, and they last and last. This lion was the one exception.. he ripped open the back to desqueak it, then chewed one of the arms off. Dont buy this toy for super chewers, otherwise it will last only a few minutes! Better suited for smaller dogs and puppies.

These are adorable toys and wonderful for medium breed puppies who are in need of a lightweight toy. They have ample apendages to carry, and the ropes that all puppies love. Ours have lasted and lasted as puppies spend more time carrying them from place to place than actually chewing on them.

My golden gave two hard tugs on the toy and it was apart. This should be for light play by a small dog.

I recently got a 2 1/2 year old beagle and immediately began spoiling her by buying her lots of toys. She seems unimpressed with every cute toy I get and prefers to rip up brown paper bags or envelopes. However, I just bought her the Safari Animal Elephant and she LOVES it. In one day she had one of the rope legs fraying. It is the only thing I have ever seen her play fetch with. Once she destroys this one I am going to buy the Lion, because she loves chewing on the fuzzy hair on the top of the toy's head.
