The door frame installs easily but the double flap stiffens in cold weather and does not seal. You may as well just cut a hole in your door and put a piece of wood over the hole when not in use. You will get the same quality of insulation from the cold.

The quality of the door frame is very good. The metal door closure is weak and bends easily. The dogs tried coming threw the door cause they couldnt tell it was sealed and ended up bending and knocking it out. Now its really hard to put it in. Also, the dogs got caught in the narrower flap, eventually requiring a flap replacement, which cost way to much. If I didnt have the Xtra lg size, Id replace the whole door for a different single flap design.

The flaps didnt always catch as tight as they should, so the cold outside air still comes in. The dogs got stuck between the two flaps on many different occasions. This eventually let to the outer, narrower flap getting rippedtorn. The replacement cost is almost 50 of what a whole new door would cost.
