Our mixed breed (70 lb.) dog gets one of these every night before bedtime. I have noticed a definite improvement in the whiteness of his teeth since he's been getting these (several months now.) Another reviewer said that these are very sweet, but they do not contain any sugar, fructose, corn syrup or otherwise disguised sugar per the ingredients list. Glycerin and gelatin do not contain sugar so I wouldn't worry about your dog getting excess sugar from this treat. Also, they have quite a few vitamins and minerals added which is a definite plus in my mind. If your dog doesn't really chew the stix, they can't really clean his teeth, though and, in that case, I would also worry about him swallowing them whole. (Seems unlikely to me, at least for the largest size.) Our best buddy does chew them thoroughly (but quickly)and they are chewy enough to scrape away food and plaque that clings to the teeth. We highly recommend Dentastix.

These treats are very SWEET and not healthy for your dogs. There's nothing good in it and there's no treats in the wolrd that can help with the build up of plaque and tartar since the treats don't touch the outside of your dog's teeth (where the build up of plaque is). Wanna control tartar ; brush your pets teeth !

My dogs are very fussy eaters and very fussy about their treats especially if they are good for them. When they hear me pick up the bag, they come running. They absolutely love them.

Our dog (a golden retriever) loved the dentastix. Unfortunatly, she loved them and devoured them so quickly that there was no way that they had a chance to help with tartar. It seemed more like a soft treat for her and we had the largest ones they made.

I've been looking to find a treat for my dogs that they all like and Abby is the worse she doesn't like anything but I bought these yesterday and gave it to all 3 of my dogs (two golden retrievers and a german shepard) I literally turned around for 2 seconds and they were gone and the dogs kept looking around for more and today I gave it to them again and the same thing happened the price is reasonable $4 at Kmart for 7 sticks so if you only have 1 dog its like $16 for an entire months supply for a treat that cleans their teeth I will definatly be buying more of these for the dogs
