DO upset some dogs' stomachs, 7/31/2008

These chews sound good, but after eating one, our dachshund had a nasty bout of vomiting knotted pieces of the product. Her stomach was upset the night after she ate it, and sure enough, the next morning it came up. Also, with small dogs they present a choking hazard when they're chewed down to the last section. Some dogs may try to eat that piece whole. I had to take it away from my dog so that she would not choke, and I have read of this happening with other dogs. This was also not an isolated incident. We had tried this product months ago, and thinking that perhaps it was just a "fluke" we tried one again with her. Same thing~stomach upset and vomiting knots of it. It doesn't break down completely in the stomach, and while it might be fine for other dogs, we will never buy this product again.

I BREED YORKIE'S AND FIND THIS IS GREAT FOR THE PUPPIES TO TEETH ON.AND DON'T UP SET THE STOMCH.ALSO SEND HOME WITH THE PUPS

I have a Yorkshire terrier who is diabetic and also has inflamatory bowel disease, so it is hard to find things for him to chew on that dont affect his bowels. He can have one a day with no ill effects but yet satisfies his chewing needs. Its also great to find a website that has excellent prices and great variety.

My dachshund puppy LOVES these things! She pounces on them and would chew on them all the time if we let her! If there's a time we need her to be still, the sure-fire trick is to hand her one of these. She loves the cheese-flavored ones! I like them because they don't splinter like regualr raw-hide and they have various flavors so it's a variety for her. We're thinking about getting a bunch of them to stuff her stocking for Christmas!!
