Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ex pens We ended up getting 2 of these pens, one smaller and then a little taller as our puppy got old enough to knock the first one around. This was the best price I found ANYWHERE. Kept one in the kitchen, one in the family room with a tarp underneath. Suggest you surround it with gallon size water jugs (empties refilled with tap H20) to stabilize. Even our older dog loved to be in there! Big enough for a snuggie blanket, toys, little water dish. You can zip-tie them to deck rails to protect them from squeezing through the rails. October 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome pens I have six of these pens. We breed standard poodles and these are awesome for keeping the puppies safe. I have also used them in my garden to keep our poodle kids out of our fish pond. I always recommend these pens to the families who get our puppies. July 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by If you have a new puppy... buy this. I've never owned a dog before so I was a little skeptical of buying an exercise pen, but it turned out to be sooooo worth it. I have a 4 month old frenchie and I attach the pen to his crate when I'm gone so he has room to move around and play but won't destroy a room. I set the pen surrounding our front door so I can leave the door open and he can walk outside a little ways but can't run off. The things you can do with an exercise pen are limitless because you can fold it so many ways. I like this pen because the wire is coated will and there are no sharp edges sticking out. Some of the clips to hold the pen together broke when I tried to collapse the pen with them still attached (oops), so I just use rock-climbing clips. Worth the money! February 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love It I live in a condo so I can not have a perminate fence but I have 2 small dogs so I need a fence. I purchased 3 sets and connected them, it's perfect! The grass is mowed once a wk by a company, when they come I just fold up the fence and put it back up when they are done; takes 5 minutes. The only reason I only gave 4 stars on the quality is because I have noticed a little rust starting but, no big deal. This is one of the best purchases I ever made. July 19, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Own TWELVE so far...very useful! I bought two 30" x-pens way back when they first came out new on the market. I have purchased eight 48" x-pens and taken them apart, separating them into individual panels to reconstruct into a single pen configuration for up to 30 dogs... summertime use! I have four 30" pens for my babies, of differing ages. I use zip strips, snap bolts, plastic fencing as a top, with cedar bedding for flea control. This is an excellent product to contain my tiny and small Chihuahuas and Pomeranians! June 3, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Ex-Pen, just Watch the Edges This is a nice pen and good looking too. One suggestion is when you get it, check round the edges. I slid my hand on the top when closing it, and sliced my palm with a very sharp metal shard. I removed it with a needle-nose plier, but that was painful. Now that I have a smooth ex-pen, I'm enjoying using it already to block off the kitchen when I'm making dog dinners. Besides using it to contain my dogs at dog agility class and trials, this will be a versatile item to keep dogs out from under my feet in the kitchen. August 12, 2009

How big of an area does one pen provide? Height measurements are provided on the website, but not square-footage. Thanks!
Marci V on Feb 12, 2014
Best Answer: The pen will make a 4 ft. by 4 ft. square. So that would be 16 sq ft. Now, that changes with forming it in different shape such as a rectangle or octagon. Would have to do more detailed math formulas to figure that out. It would make a 2 ft by 6 ft rectangle and that would equate to 12 sq feet. I think the octagon would give you a little more sq. ft. than the square.

does this pen have a passage door of any kind?
Randi L on Apr 29, 2014
Best Answer: I have the 24" high one which is short enough for me to step over. The panels are all connected together and you connect the ends with clips that are included. There are 4 clips not a quick open and close type but i like it. I have 2 small dogs and thinking of orderi ng another to expand the size

Can I put two of these together?
A shopper on May 31, 2015
Best Answer: I did. I connected 4 of them to make a giant pen. My dogs are only 15 lbs each though and I used metal metal stakes to support it. The small support pegs they send will just keep in in place on the ground but the bigger the pen, the more support on the sides you need. I don't know if I'd recommend it for medium or larger dogs.

can you hook two of these together? Evidently, you can but is there a door or not? I am not picking up a 100 lb dog to put in it!
sharon on Jan 5, 2015
Best Answer: You can hook up as many of the fences as you want. They hook together with a little hooking device that comes with the fence. That would work like a gate. You can also hook it to a slicone (Sp?) fence as we do across our driveway. We have three of the sections and my husband says he's going to buy two more. They are great for extending the dogs exercise area. Also for traveling or at some one else's house when visiting. Phyllis

Are you able to attach this ex pen to a wire crate?
Jenna D on Mar 21, 2014
Best Answer: The panels are 2' x 2', so your wire crate would have to be at least 2' wide. I have not tried to do this because my crates are much smaller. But I think you could use clips or some similar device to connect the pen and crate if the crate was wide enough.
