NOT for home use, 9/7/2009
Patrick from Bellevue, WA

My 19 lb terrier is over 2 years old and is very well crate trained. I thought this would be more comfortable for him and he really liked it. I had him sleep in it overnight with no problems. I had to put him back in for 10 minutes before taking him for a walk and he busted right through the front mesh door. If this happened while camping or away from the house it would have been a big problem. Be wary about buying this for your dog.

Love this crate, 5/8/2009
Maggie from Schuylkill Hven, PA

My Labs are create trained at a very early age. Once that is accomplished, the Day-Tripper is the crate I use when we travel. I have tried a variety of other "light weight" crates and this is by far my favorite. It is light weight and easy to assemble and unassemble. However, I would caution... This is not a crate to be used for training. During the training period use a wire or molded crate.

Love it - just bought a second one!, 8/16/2008
Linda from Minneapolis, MN

Bought my first one (the 25x18x21 size) a few months ago for one of my westies (she's sacked out in it right now) and liked it so much that I just bought another one for the other westie. He already has a nylabone collapsible crate but it's not that easy to fold up and it's kind of heavy and bulky to travel with. The Day Tripper is very easy to fold up and very light-weight - great for traveling. I also like the side and end entries.

Careful if your dog/puppy is a chewer, 7/14/2008
julie from chicago, il

The outside of the popup crate is super durable, but the bottom tray is not. It's made out of a cheap plywood with a fluffy zip liner cover. Well, our dog chewed right through it in no time and the pop up doesnt work without the bottom to keep the sides up.

not satisfied, 5/7/2008
Anne from Long Island, NY

I purchased the largest size for my goldie. Within one week the back door snapped. I was putting the crate in my truck and accidentally bumped it against the side of the truck. It wasn't a very hard bump. I called the manufacturer hoping they would cover the malfunction, but they told me to buy a soldering iron to fix it.

Mostly great, 7/23/2007
v floyd from seattle, wa

I bought this for traveling with my greyhound. The first night she used it she managed to rip straight through the mesh screenshe was already crate trained but we at my moms house. I sowed it back together and since then she has not tried to break out. Otherwise it is easy to set up and take down, fairly light weight and travels well.I would recommend this if you have a easy going crate trained dog but not if you had a roudy crate hating dog.

I have the medium sized for my Lab and he has plenty of room to enjoy and fits in my Xterra perfectly, however I can not figure out how to fold it up to carry. Any suggestions please let me know.

Excellent!, 5/22/2007
Lynne Jacobsen from Janesville, WI

I have a medium sized one for my Australian Shepherd. It fits nicely in the backseat of my Chevy Cavalier and it great to take to shows. Very light-weight and durable! A must have if you travel and show your dog!
