Size measurements are not really accurate. Ordered the medium for my corgi; his length is 15", well within the 14-17" range listed, yet the coat only covers 2/3 of his back. Likewise, his girth is 22", exactly the size listed, yet the waist belt was so short it could barely close. Tried ordering a large, then, but while the length was right, it was so baggy he couldn't walk in it. The belly panel is the same width on both sizes, and it's too wide. Corgis are hard to find a good fit for, but if the actual coat measurements matched the sizing chart this would have worked perfectly. Do not get this coat if your dog is barrel-chested or has short legs. Also note that if your dog walks on a harness rather than a collar, you'll need to make your own leash slit in the back. Really a shame, because the construction is fantastic: thick, plush, and seems very tough. Fantastic price for such good material.

Very well built and material looks to be pretty tough. I got this for my yellow 2 year old Lab,who doesn't have the heavy coat of my old chocolate Lab. Mainly for sitting in vehicles in cold weather. The x-large fits perfectly and looks very good. She hasn't had it on except to check the fit and will take a little getting used to. She loves to slide down snowy hills on her back, so I doubt if she will be wearing this out in the field.

I purchase this coat for my pitbull/Shepard mix, he doesn't have a lot of hair on the belly. This coat fits great & covers the belly. Its easy to put on & take off, so he likes it. Great buy for the money.

This coat is everything I was looking for in a winter coat for my dog. It's like a ski jacket/vest keeping my dog's trunk and belly warm and dry in the snow. The strong velcro fastener is extremely easy on/off and holds the coat in place even without using the elastic leg straps. My dog is very comfortable wearing it. I bought a medium for my dog [measurements 19"L x 22" girth 24lbs]. It covers his back with 2" space from tail base and velcro strip not completely covered when closed. So, slighty small but the large would probably be too big. It still protects him VERY well. It's a WELL MADE coat. It looks better in person and is everything that is advertised about it. Shop no further!

I researched so many jackets for my dog. Ordered one from Land's End,they referred to it as a squall jacket, when rec'd it wasn't any better than the little vest from Target....BUT this one is well worth every penny, so rugged, warm, very well made, love the underwrap keeps the chest and belly warm, so easy to put on and pull off. My only complaint is there is no place for the harness loop, so I had to cut and stitch one, there is one for a collar, however my little girl wears a harness. THE BEST EVER!!! VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!!! Thank you!

Just received in the mail, a large in maroon. Very well made and seems thick enough for the really cold weather we've been having and will have. I especially like the chest coverage. Color depiction is accurate. Great value for the price including S&H. Pet approval only 4 stars because, let's face it, she's not going to be totally happy about any coat.

The XL coat fits my 65lb Doberman like a glove. No kidding. Like it was tailor made for him. His girth = 31". Well worth the 20% off price. Superior quality and waterproof too. I did not give the price 5 stars because I had to pay $8.99 for UPS ground. I guess I am used to free shipping. So with the 20% off = free shipping at regular price. Searched numerous sites and could not find a quality coat for a big dog at a reasonable price. Nice work. Very happy. Ready for long winter walks.

I purchased 3 of these coats for our 3 Dobermans, 1 male and 2 females. They fit Dobes well, and are easy to put on and remove. I was very impressed with how well made they are, and the price is amazing for such nice coats. They do keep the dogs warm outside, and as soon as they see me with a coat, they come running over for me to put their coats on. They love their coats!

I ordered a LARGE for my yellow lab and a XLARGE for my Labradoodle and the XLARGE was too big for both of them and LARGE was too small for both of them. This is sooo disappointing because I absolutely love the coats and are very well made and they are so adorable on.

This is a Product that delivers what it promises! We have two Golden Doodles and we have 7 months of rain - it is almost impossible to keep them clean and dry - we walk them every day, and cleaning and drying them takes often longer than the walk itself. This coat has made my life and the dogs life so much easier. I have tried other coats and payed a lot more money - but were disappointing - the Kodiak Dog Coat has all the features that I was looking for and is the best I have found so far. *****

We have a five year old Boxer/Beagle mix who is in between sizes (M and L) and so it's very hard finding a coat that fits every part of his body. The Mediums are usually too tight around his belly, neck and legs and Larges are usually just too big and baggy. Well, after searching for nearly two hours and already buying a coat from another website, we came across this nice looking coat and thought we'd give it a try. It shipped super fast to us and as soon as we put it on our dog, we knew it was a keeper! The length is a little past his tail, but that's ok. He doesn't fit the weight range given for a Large, but that's ok - just remember to measure your dog's length, neck size and girth to get the proper size. He looks sharp in this coat and snow is coming tomorrow so he'll be able to test it out. It's warm, we love the reflective strips on it and the belt that goes all around his belly is just perfect for a good, snug (but not too tight) fit. Thanks so much dog.com for having such a wonderful dog coat! We're finally satisfied :-)

I am just updating my review. My dog's measurements fell within the xlarge size range, not the large although she is 10-12 pounds lighter than the weight range. Be sure to measure your dog. I have no problem getting her to wear her coat - she knows she's going out so she gets very excited. Again, this is a well made coat.

This is a very well made coat and a good buy for the price. I measured my dog and her measurements length/chest size fell into the large size although she does not weigh as much as the size listed. It fits perfectly in length and chest size. The coat is easy put put on and I like the fact that it keeps the chest area warm too. There's plenty of adjustment in the strap so it would be roomy for a heavier dog. Can't wait until we can use this coat! Overall, a nicely made coat for a reasonable price.
