If the manufacturer would make a soft Jolly Ball with no handle, they would have an excellent product! As it is, even the horse-sized ball gets the handle chewed off in a few days. Just takes a moment or two of inattention, and the deal is done. My dog LOVES these balls and loves to bite them repeatedly. He easily carries them around by biting them, does not need a handle to carry the ball around. I have emailed the manufacturer and talked with one distributor in hopes they might introduce a new product, not discontinue the Jolly Ball with the handle. No one seems interested. It is quite a shame as I have met a great many folks with the same interest as me in this regard. You can say these are not meant for chewing, but you might as well say they aren't meant for dogs with teeth! If you and your dog get along fine with the handle -- - wonderful for you. I'd like one with no handle.

This is our shepherds FAVORITE toy! Our boys will throw it to her and she gllefully gallups back with it in her mouth. You can tell she feels proud when she carries it back with her handle. Big dogs and Big chewers will chew the handle off no matter how active. Our dog chews off the handles and she is a farm dog with lots of activity and weekly agility classes. It still is an excellent choice!!!!

I don't see how a dog can destroy this ball.If they can, they have too much energy bottled up.Maybe you should give them more walks instead of just toys.I love this ball.It has gone through two Great Dane puppies. The baby is a year old now,and it still holding up.It's great for any kind of weather.I'm going to get one for my breeder for Christmas!!

My Akita, Max, has gone thru several of these. But he LOVES to play with them. Even though he does eventually chew the handles off, he still keeps playing. It doesn't deflate which is great. I say "so what" if he does chew it up, better the toy than something else that is not his.

I am a professional pet sitter and a breeder of Field Trial Labrador Retrivers. I love this toy! For those that complain about the handles being chewed this toy was designed to be an interactive toy, not one to be left with unattended pets. Mine have lasted a year an a half with my labs that love to chew. I use it in our yard and in the lake! They love them! I tell all of my clients about it! Again use Kong toys when you leave your pets unattended!
