The Tug-a-Bone treat dispensing puzzle toy features a retractable pivoting inner section that holds and hides treats. Fill the inner section with your dog's favorite treat, then close it and let your dog enjoy discovering the hidden reward!
The challenge: Using his or her problem-solving skills, your dog must learn to paw and hold the outer section, then use his or her mouth to tug out and pivot the inner section to win the hidden treats.
The catch: The inner section will only come out just enough to expose a small portion of the hidden treats. At that point, your dog must then learn to pivot open the inner section to gain full access to the hidden treats. Watch as the partial exposure of the treats intensifies your dog's natural instinct and eagerness to learn and work at winning his or her reward.

Easy Cleaning Care: Tug-a-Bone was designed to be easily disassembled and reassembled for a thorough cleaning. To hand wash, use warm water and a mild, non-toxic dishwashing soap. First, dip it in the soapy water, then pull the rotating hatch out of the socket, wash parts, then reassemble it while still in the soapy water. After assembly, rinse thoroughly and dry. When using a dishwasher, do not use the dry cycle. Remove from dishwasher, reassemble, then store it away until your furry friends next playtime. Tip: Always use the soapy water to disassemble and reassemble.
Instructions for Use:
1. When demonstrating Tug-a-Bone to your dog let your dog see you place his or her favorite treat inside the toy. First, let your dog see you tug out the inner section and pivot it open to fully expose the hidden treat cavity; demonstrate several times.
2. Then, fill the treat cavity with treats. Next, pivot the inner section inward just enough to hide a portion of the treats. Then, place Tug-a-Bone on the floor and move it around until the treats begin to fall on the floor. Allow your furry friend to move forward and eat the treats.
3. After your dog wins the treats on the floor, he or she will become curious to the remaining treats inside the toy. At that point, immediately pick up the toy and praise him or her for watching your demonstration. Repeat if necessary. Once your dog understands and enjoys the Tug-a-Bone puzzle toy at this level, you can then begin to gradually increase the challenge and degree of difficulty.
4. When ready, fill the toy with more treats, then close it a little more than the previous level. Be sure to let your dog win by eating the exposed treats before each level increase. Be patient with each increase, and don't rush your dog. Have fun as this is a great time to bond with the love and attention you're giving.
