I own a 1 year old 6 pound Yorkie and she has had this since I brought her home as a pup and loves it. Contrary to what people see in the picture, it doesn't have a bottom (that is a piddle pad). Thankfully she hasn't learned how to climb it or jump it so it is still working today. There is enough room to put a bed, food and water and piddle pads. I just got another 1 year old Yorkie who is 4 pounds and until the 2 are fully comfortable with each other I'm ordering a 2nd one which can then be used to expand it to be really big for the 2 to share.

I LOVE these pens and have bought 20 over 3 years time. I have adapted them as sliding gates across my doorways, made swinging gates for the hallway. Made tops for some, made 2 panels into a 6 foot sliding barrier. I have used shower stall mylite to panel the inside 1/2 way up for my stud dog so he can't mark outside of the pen. They can be adapted in so many ways. Love them!

Great play area for small dogs, 4/17/2010

I have both the big and the small iris exercise pen and I just love both of them. I use the large one for my yorkiepoo inside with his crate, food dishes, toys and pee pad in it and the small one for both of my yorkiepoos when we go out on the front porch. I don't find it a problem that it has no bottom. I just take an old comforter and put it down first and then put the pen on that with a pee pad on it and then they have a soft place to play and sleep and also the pee pad is there if they need it. I bought this item when it was on sale for $42.00 and would consider getting another one if the price drops to that amount again.

We have a Yorkie and wanted to give him a area to sleep in. Perfect until he learned how to jump up and pull up on the sides to get out. Thought their was a bottom, so I made one. Wanted it to be as nice as the pen, try a flat large box and brought a nice stick on tile and it looks wonderful.

I love this item. I have a small 4 lb yorkie and thought the large space would keep him confined as well as provide an area for his potty pad/food/ and a bed. The only problem is that my yorkie must be part gerbil...he actually figured out how to "crawl" up the side by placing his paws on the slats..then he pushed himself over the top.. oh my gosh!! This really happened. Is there a top available for this item?

Was dissapointed that there is no bottom. It is pictured with one. It would be nice to get what is pictured. Or at least be able to purchase one.

I got this pen to use as a "potty corral" for my last litter of Portuguese Water Dog puppies within the room where we have them from 4-8 weeks. The puppies quickly learned to go into the "PC" (where we use gridlock training pads) to do their business. Our puppies stayed clean, and they were housebroken when they went home at 8 weeks.

After buying my first pen, I have since bought 20+ more of them. I hook 2 together when a larger size is needed. My Chihuahuas whelp in these and raise their pups. I have cut some of them to allow access to doggie doors. I have used mylite (shower stall panels) in 12 inch high strips to block drafts and give mother dogs privacy. I have built hinged tops for the dogs that can jump over them. My puppy customers love them!

Not meant to protect dogs fully....especially if you aren't keeping eye on them. You need to make a cover to go over top to keep dogs in. Just a piece of canvas and 4 strings to tie onto. Anyone can do it. You can also put 2 together if you buy the corner pins too. Owner responsibility is a must.

We purchased this pen for our Shih Tzu puppy. It goes together so easily -- takes but a minute or so to set up. It's definitely large enough for a small puppy bed with plenty of play room left over. Our puppy is not a "jumper" so for us, this is perfect pen.

I have a shih-tzu and she climbed right out of it the next day. Now it sits to the side cause it has no use to it now! I should have sent it back. People do NOT buy this for a dog cause they will climb out of it unless you have a very small puppy that can barely walk yet!

Would not work for my standard dachsies or their puppies (the pups would climb out and adults would jump out). Even my 8 1/2 lb mini dachs would be able to jump out but her puppies (when she has them) probably wouldn't be able to jump or climb out.

This has to be for puppies who are under vigilant supervision. My chihuahua has a 4' vertical jump, straight up but never over so I am fortunate, but I would not want to put him to the test with this without close supervision.

I purchased this pen to keep my Yorkie safe while I am at work. After putting her in there for about a week, she figured out how to climb out. I wasted my money because now I have to by a cage. The quality of the product was very good, it just did not serve my purpose.

ok, I like alot of things, but this pen IS THE BEST! I am not HANDY, but, I put this together in 30 seconds...only have to put sides together than place a pen in the holes...TOO EASY! I have wood floors and this DOES NOT SCRATCH ANYTHING. Also, you are "refigure" it. (push sides in and out for somewhat of a diamond shape) again, this is wonderful for an inside space for your pet...door works well too! am thinking of ordering another one to make pen even larger!! this pen is PERFECT!

I just had a litter of yorkies and these pens are a God send. I have one in my family room and one for in the garage and yard. I have 3 of them and put 2 together and it is really nice and big. I can sit in it with them and play with them. I put the piddle pad on one side toys and bed on the other side and they learn to use the piddle pads.I couldnt be more pleased with these. I love how they fold up to stow away.You wont be sorry with these.You may want to get two.

I have 2 of these and use them when we are going to the dog shows.. They fold easy, dont take up much roon in the van and set up fast when needed ... they also are so easy to clean . I have 2 of these and am about to purchase 3 more. I raise miniature Dachshunds and these are wonderful for the new moms. Also great for the pups after mom has weined them and we are working on house training. I totally recommend one to anyone with a dog, especially a puppy. It is extremely easy to assemble, wash, and store.
