I'm a small breeder of American Cocker Spaniels. After searching for a heating system for my litters and finding them oh so expensive, I discovered this wonderful heating source. I've used it to successfully raise a litter of puppies and am going back to buy a second one. It is easy to clean, has just the right amount of heat and puppies can crawl on and off at will with no problem. I think this item should be moved into the whelping section so more breeders can become aware of this treasure.

I breed chihuahuas and I think that this is a great product for whelping dogs, and for the pups when they are born! Everything about this mat is perfect. I usually turn it on quite warm when they are first born, then slowly turn the heat down until the no longer need it. Great product, Thanks Dog.com!!

This heating pad was perfect for whelping our liter of miniature aussie puppies! It was warm enough for the puppies, but not to warm for mom. We plugged it in at the first signs of labor. When the puppies were a week old we flipped it over to the cooler side. It is the perfect heating pad, it's warm enough with no worry of burns. Would highly recommend to anyone!

I got this for my 2nd litter of Rat-Chi puppies. It takes a little while to warm up, so plug it in well before pups are whelped2hours. Im using the 98 degree side for the first 2-3 weeks and switch over to the 80 degree side after the pups have matured a bit. It is really nice because the pad is never scalding hot to the touch. Dogs can lay directly on the pad. The surface is a little slippery for puppies. Overall, its one of the best heating pads I have seen or used.
