My Master Hunter Yellow Labrador is a fussy eater. He loves Canidae ALS. It was recommended by a professional showring handler. His coat improved and herequires less food to stay in show shape. It has no fillers. With what you will save on vet bills, this is the best food for your money.

This dog food is extremely hard to find. I buy 15 lb bags for $25 at my local Olsen Grain store.
My 7 year old labrador/retriever mix absolutely loves this food; I usually mix in a quarter
can of the 12 oz. canidae ALS wet dog food, and sometimes boiled chicken as well. She tears through the mix as if it were a real animal! Her poop is always solid and as mentioned before, not smelly at all. She has been on this food all of her life, and I intend on keeping her on it! I wish it was slightly cheaper, but thats my only complaint.

I have two large breed dogs, a Rottweiler and a Golden Retriever, and they are both doing great on this food. They have beautiful coats and normal/small stools. My Rottie was previously on a very expensive food, Wellness Core, that he just wouldn't touch, but he loves this stuff. This stuff is also the cheapest quality dog food that I can find anywhere. Most dog food reviews rate Canidae ALS very highly. Petfood.com also did a great job shipping it to my place in a reasonable time.

I have two German Shephards and they love this food. They always eat it as soon as they are fed and never have any digestive issues (Gas). Highly recommend to picky eaters.

I have a Bouvier and a German Shepperd. Their coats greatly improved with this dog food. The Bouvier hair is very soft now. The big thing is neither dog seems to have that "dog" smell anymore. They really have responded well to this dog food. I am very pleased with it and feel that it is worth the extra cost of buying it on line since I can't get it locally. Wish the shipping costs could be reduced though.

This is the only food my 4 year old Westie has ever eaten. Just last week a new groomer complimented him on his health and silky, whte coat. He just loves it.

My husband and I saved a pit bull from starvation and fighting. We fed her the same as our other pit bull "purina dog chow" but she kept loosing weight and her gray coat looked like a washed out black and stale. Anyway, we bought canidae food for both dogs and she thrived on it. Within a few days her coat turned a shiny dark gray and within 2 weeks, she gained 5 lbs. That dog had so much energy that came from no where, well I like to think it's because of the food. Canidae worked wonders for my other pit bull, she digestive problems went right away. It's like a superfood for dogs.

After my dog started losing weight on some of the other premium dog foods, I got some Canidae ALS out of desperation. I use a combination of the canned and dry food and she is looking amazing! She put on weight and the vet is very satisfied. She eats a THIRD of what she was on some brands that were costing me even MORE per pound. If you transition your dog to this food properly, you should not see any problems at all, and end up saving money in the long run even. At 55 lbs now, my lab/shepherd mix is eating a cup and a half a day, and about 1/2 a can of the 5.5 oz cans a day. She's very happy with it, and so am I.

Paid for this and 5 other top foods to be tested in a laboratory and the analysis was that it surpassed all others by 35%.
My English Black Labs coat shines and eyes, ears and feet are 100% clear of and gook. We were on the E food from the vet and what a rip. They do not teach nutrition in Vet school as they don't teach it in Med school either.
Vets DO NOT KNOW FOOD - period. Opinions only. Buy the BEST!

This dog food WAS my favoriate. I fed this food to all of my dogs. One day I noticed my older dog was itch and lick a lot. I didn't think anything of it until, my younger dog started to vomit. I spoke with my friend that recommended the diet to me, she raises Corgis' and had never had a problem, she mentioned that Candidae had changed the formula. She said that one of her dogs had started vomiting and that their stool was loose. both of us no longer use it or recommend buying this product.

I use to recommend Candiae to everyone, Stood by it as simply the best (also was a great price.) Then one day the bag size shrunk 5 lb and the price went up a few dollars... i thought it was due to the economy and kept my faith in Canidae. When I was feeding my dogs I noticed the kibble smelled and looked different. I read the ingredients and knew right away something was different. They gave no warning on the bag such as "New and improved formula!" NOTHING. Thankfully my dogs did not get sick from the switch... but it seemed the longer I fed them this food they started getting sick. over the course of 3 bags there stools got softer and softer, they slowed eating, they looked depressed and my littleest female stopped eating all together. i thought they were sick, took them to the vet, countless tests turned up negative. So I switched them to Chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul... within a week the stools firmed and they all gained weight, coats got there colors back and they are happy again. Scary how it was a gradual decline... proving it wasn't just a switching foods tummy ache that canidae keeps acting like it is... do not buy this food.

My very active German Shorthaired Pointer was eating ALS for a little more than a year without problems which was great because he has a very sensitive stomach. Suddenly he developed extreme gas...we're talking disgusting audible obnoxious sounds coming from a dog...and, to my disappointment, I had found that they changed the original formula. Well after going through 2 bags of the "new and improved formula" I decided to switch to the grain free ALS. I didn't transition as you should to the new food and he has experienced absolutely NO stomach upset, no gas, no diarrhea. I am so happy I switched, my house smells better, he loves the taste! He stuffed his head in the bag the moment I opened it! I am sorry the old formula is gone but I am very pleased with the new grain free. I am disappointed in the price $52 for 30 lbs :( Overall pleased!

I rescue pitbulls and one case in particular, blue nose female 1 year old, very much malnurished, eye was going blind from a halo on her cornea. When I was convinced to use canidae I was afraid of the price, in the long run it paid for it's self. She (the dog) gained weight at a good rate, her coat was very shiny, her eye problem got much better and we saved her eye. Her body was in good condition after only 3 days! I was very suprized and very thankfull for canidae. She is 1 1/2 now and her eye is almost healed (NO Surgery!). So in short, if canidae can nourish a very poor health dog, imagine the benifits it will have on your healthy dog. I stand firm behind canidae.

One of my German Shepherds is allergic to most of the ingredients but, this food, he stopped itching, beautiful coat, minor problems like ear problems, etc....gone. I like this dog food is because it is organic not By-Products, Coloring, & etc....but, the quality is so less. Wish it was more like 55 lbs. or more that way people don't have to spend a lot of money to buy bags after bags & that way the bag(s) can last more than a month to a month & a half. I think this will be such a good idea for the company reconsider about it. Hope this helps someone.

The new formula is terrible. Why change a good thing and then raise the price $5 for 5 pounds less. It was a no brainer for me to change foods.

I have a German Shorthair Pointer that has an allergy to corn or wheat. A friend of mine recommended this food, and the results have been amazing. After three weeks the itching has stopped, the coat looks much better, and she has an appetite now. No loss of energy, or muscle tone. I have switched my other two dogs to this also, so now I have three happy dogs.

We adopted our then 11 month old Puggles in August 2007. We began feeding them Canidae and they made the switch from their old food very easily. Now, Sam drools like Pavlovs dog and Blaze does a crazy little dance when he sees it coming!

I've been feeding Canidae to my female German Shepherd since she was weaned. I feed her what the chart on the pkg recommends and her weight is always under control, nice stools and less of them. My breeder recommended it as I've always fed Eukanuba.
Not anymore. My girl is 14 months old and she is gorgeous.

Have four dogs: a Lab and Pointer, both 5 years and a 3 year old Scottie and 1 year old Papillion. The lab had been severely overweight, has hipelbow dysplasia and he and my Pointer suffer chronic skin and ear infections. After 5 years feeding Pedigree decided to try this. In the six months Ive been feeding candiae the lab has lost 40 pounds, easing is lameness a good deal. He and the Pointer still have skinear issues, but their overall health seems greatly improved. All the boys tended to be overweight, but now they are all at a healthy weight. Beautiful coats, more energy, fewer stools. They love the food. Switched all my cats from Friskies to Felidae as well. All my pets look and seem much more healthy now. Wonderful product--costly, but because its by-productfiller free, they eat much less of it than the old food making the cost increase minimal.

We feed our English Mastiff, Chow-Chow, and Heinz 57 this food. They love the taste and we love the high quality and health benefits. We will never feed anything else to our babies! It was nice to not have to worry when the nation wide pet food recalls occurred. We knew that Canidae was safe for our pets.

I switched my Germ. ShepBulldog mix from Solid Gold Beef and Barley to the Canidae ALS, and she loves it and I love the price difference, both good foods but Canidae is a bit easier on the wallet. I get compliments of her soft coat and overall energy.Tom

Weve been using Canidae for approxiamtely four years now and its been an exceptionally good diet for our working terriers. Not all dogs are created equal within the same breed and a few of ours terriers are hard keepers meaning that they tend to get ribby very easily. Canidae is one of the few foods that has helped keep our terriers body weight more regulated while providing the right amount of nutrition so that they hold up well when huntign for several days at a time requiring minmal supplementation to their diets.

I wish more people would consider a quality food like Canidae, rather than grocery store brands with cheap fillers. My own dog has been eating it for two months and has an AMAZING coat to show for it! My sisters young puppy only 3 months is doing great too, and the dog we foster for our Humane Society has already shown an improvement in her coat in less than two weeks on Canidae! BRAVO!!

I show and raise bullmastiffs. My puppies are weaned right to canidae. My dogs coats are gorgous. I tried to buy some coat shine product from a vender at a show. She being a handler for several years said, your dogs coat are perfect I wouldnt waste any money on a shine product and they seen to be in perfect conditionbody tone. Weve show for only 4 years and have 4 champions and with canidae have plans for many more.

I have a puppy and an adult. I tried to get them to eat out of different bowls to no avail. I wanted them to get the nutrients that they needed for their stage in life. Since separate bowls didn't work, I began mixing their food, which I didn't like. It wasn't best for the dogs and it was a hassle for me. Then, I found Canidae due to a recommendation from my local pet store! :) It was the answer to our problems. I feel good knowing they are eating high quality food and they love it. I haven't seen any negative health problems as a result of them eating Canidae. In fact, their coats are softer and shinier than ever.

My yellow lab is 1 1/2 years old and has been eating Canidae since we brought her home at the age of 2 months. People stop and comment upon her beautiful coat and athletic shape. Her eyes are bright and she's in great health. She does get a little exercise, but really spends most of the day sleeping, especially in warm weather. I would highly recommend this dogfood.
