I would just like to let people know that this collar is very large and heavy, I ordered it in my dog's usual size, and while the length was the same, the collar seems wider and thicker than your average collar. It seems to be designed for large dogs or very strong dogs, my border collie is very slight and when I pulled on the handle to pull it out, she would back up, making it impossible to pull out the handle as it requires some resistance to make it come out. So I think it would work well with some types of dogs, but not small or sensitive ones. I was hoping for a collar where the handle just permanently stuck out a bit from the collar, to make it easier to grab.

My dogs, beagle mixes, love to follow their noses when they get loose. When going in search of them, I never think to grab a leash, and as they are not as tall as my arm, holding them by the collar to get them home hurt my back. These collars are perfect. I can grab the built-in leash and we walk home. I took the dogs to the vet's office, and the whole staff wanted to know where I had gotten the collars--they loved them. Only wish Dog.com would carry the other colors!

We have a couple of hunting dogs, and needed a leash that didnt drag, and a sturdy collar. This Bamboo collar fills both needs! It is super while out in the field, and also has made opening the front door much easyer. It is wonderful for a quick grab. I am getting this collar for the rest of our dogs!

I highly recommend this collar! Ive had to use this several times to get control quickly of my 11 month old English mastiff. She is pretty bigstrong and can pull pretty hard when on a leash, so at first I was concerned the leash mechanism wouldnt hold up, but it has really worked well for us! Its also great for short walks--no need to hunt for the leash when its already built in to the collar :
